That's funny...because the package did include a Joust! No King Kong, though.

I've owned an original BBB, an IPB BBB, Krull, Joust, and MANY prototype Bally/WMS DMD games. Been super lucky, really. Still have a few protos, but finally just started keeping only games that *I* really like to play *and* that I feel comfortable working on. Should have kept the stupid Joust, but I didn't feel comfortable working on it so I decided to let it go. Was definitely not comfortable keeping the Krull working, and while I never actually played it, none of the games of that era appeal to me anyway, so it was another that was better to pass along. I originally intended on keeping the BBB, but at the end of the day I also didn't terribly enjoy playing it. I have proto SS and CFTBL machines and will be selling both of those for the same reason...just not games I *love* to play. They're good games, just not long term keepers for me.

I know this because I picked the game up in person in 2008 and completed the game in 2012 and Donnie paid the bill.
I don’t know if anyone ever unpacked it or played it after it was completed but I absolutely know who I did it for and where it initially came from.
From what I remember the chain of events was this
Bought game from Jeff R in 2008
Completed restoration for Donnie in 2012
Teekee somehow was then selling it around 2014(?)
Was bought by a guy named Derek from there hadn’t seen it until now.
The Derek guy did send a King Kong here direct to be restored so that may be his confusion.

I picked this up as part of a package deal. There were some amazing sweatshirts in there, but some I just didn’t enjoy wearing, so I sold them off over the years. This one definitely has some fade from being in a display case. Hoping HEP might be able to work his magic and restore it to better than new condition, but he said he was booked for years. Also, he said it was beyond his skills to make it bigger so I could fit in it, but I’m holding out hope that he’ll up his game.

Sorry, I’m just incredibly amazed and a bit jealous of these games! I love this thread.

Absolutely love the game and that shirt. Fantastic score, and I'm jealous.

I have what we(me and Jay from IPDB) think is a one-of-a-kind prototype...but since there were no records of it before I got it, it's hard to say for sure where it came from. It's a United Hawaii that was converted to a game called Magik Carpet, and we believe it was done by Nate Scheller, who made several conversions of flipperless games to flipper games in the late 40s early 50s that operators would buy to convert their now mostly useless flipperless games to exciting and NEW flipper titles.

If you search IPDB for this "manufacturer", you'll see that there are several titles they produced, most of which converted United games. We believe this one never made it out of the workshop and into production, since there's no record of it.

Just picked up this very unusual Count Down a few days ago S/N 01007. I’m thinking it may be a Prototype or Engineering Sample due to the cabinet coloring and low S/N. I got the machine complete with original manual, paperwork and warranty certificate. Machine is in relatively decent shape but will need a new MPU and a couple displays to replace weak ones.

So, now that I have been able to light up the inserts, let me show off my new acquisition. Twilight Zone has always been 'my' game - I own the very same game that got me my first arcade job, and it has been in my personal care since 1996 when I secretly swapped another TZ out in its place. (Long, unrelated story.) When 9.4H was in betatest, check_switch_26 offered one of his Prototype TZ's up for sale. I really wanted it, but I was JUST out of college, and had too much debt, so my 'bid' was beat out by another tester. Recently, someone here on Pinside posted that they had an 'unsual' playfield that they wanted to restore and put into their game. I saw the pictures, and... couldn't let them do that.

Pictured below is - for lack of a better term - a pre-prototype Twilight Zone playfield. (maybe 'Marketing Sample' fits better?)

As I understand it, in doing research over the last 25+ years, at the start of the design phase the team needed to get artwork done for the playfield so that the marketing images (flyers, PR releases, etc) could be taken and sent to the publisher. The team wasn't ready yet, so some things were thrown together and art was sent to the PF manufacturer. I believe 2 or 3 of these were made. One had prototype toys installed (clock, gumball, etc) and put into a cabinet for the flyer. That one had the 'Clock Millions' insert hand-drilled in. (You can see it in the flyer, it has NO artwork/text on it.) Either another, or the same, playfield was used for the PR photos.

This one had nothing installed on it, ever. So this was ordered and put into storage.

While it IS neat to look at, there is no point in looking at things (like the "Player Piano" award) and going, "I wonder what that did?", since at this stage, the game wasn't yet a game.

Plan on getting the art touched up as best as possible, and getting the field clearcoated to save and protect this little piece of history.

Not sure if this fits the pinball classification but it’s one of the pieces we truly love in our collection. Plus it’s serial #001 of very few made. Never restored and still plays like new. Just fun stuff!

Actually Dino Turbo looks like the PF is similar to WMS Firepower.
And looking closer Lady Death is probably a Mata Hari clone.

It is similar but not identical and 150 conversion kits made in Germany were probably never noticed in '83.

Not sure if rare or even noteworthy, but I have some art from a non-releases Williams game Defenders (or Alias Defenders).

This was (as I was explained) to be the next game for Williams before the SWE"1 license cane through. Or maybe it was the next to be made after SWE I forget the story./ These came from John Popadiuk years ago (yes, I know, I know). I thought they were a cool look into the art process, but what do I know.

Most are copies so as far as value I don't think there is a real amount, but they are cool to me anyway.
