barracora (resized).pngQuoted from xTheBlackKnightx:More prototype backglasses not often seen by the public eye.
These are owned by an acquaintance who knows I specialize in backbox artwork.
The first backglass is "Spellbinder" planned sequel to Hyperball, never produced, just playfield and backglass.
The other two are the original Banzai Run backglasses whose primary colors were changed prior to actual production to better match the playfield artwork.
NFS
Pinball history is out there for those that want to learn.
I like the Artwork on Spell Binder.

I'm very familiar with Barracora.
What I'm not familiar with is one with yellow instead of blue in the cabinet artwork, per the pics I posted.

Ah, my bad.
Quoted from tatman9999:Have a fireball prototype #15. Has black disk. Production had red. Not sure the other differences.
Nice. It's assembly line buddy #1014 is pictured on the IPDB.

Nice, it looks mint.
Just discovered this thread today, went thru it from beginning to end, here are a few things I can contribute:
I bought this from Mike Pacak several years ago, it's the Alt prototype with the score windows in really weird places!!GL Alt Proto BG (resized).jpg
Pretty rare flyer for BK2K 20181003_051755 (resized).jpg

Maybe not all rare plastics, but it's a one of a kind display!! 20181003_051720 (resized).jpg
Couple of cool bumper stickers 20181003_051850 (resized).jpg
BTTF backwards running clock, not actually a pinball item, but looks cool next to the game!! 20181003_052027 (resized).jpg

They “borrowed “ a lot of stuff from European manufacturers
One thing I haven’t seen copied yet is the Spinner that pops out for timed hit
Here's my Tales from the Crypt Sample and a framed, sign copy of a rare drawing from John Borg. It's got all the prototype variations listed below, except the protos also had alternate translite artwork. Attaching a picture of it here for reference, its blurry sorry for that its the only one I could find, as I don't have one on my game.
1. Die cast shooter head instead of plastic
2. Different insert names
-Lite Super Spin
-Grid A Ramp Complete
-Super Gravestone Marker
-Super Jackpot
-All the left ramp inserts except Jackpot
-Right ramp inserts- Lightning Ramp/Skeleton Mode
-Bottomless Pit
-Super Spin right orbital insert
-Spot a target/add time/add a ball restart
3. Apron Text Different
-Shoot Scoop to Collect Flashing
-Shoot Middle Spinner to Lite Ramp Values
4. Cabinet Color Dark Blue instead of Purple
5. Color hands on topper
6. Kill Shot shooter cover plastic

Does the cabinet have flashers installed in the head? I have had and seen others with teal inserts in the head to light the topper, but never wired in.
I've bought a number of the handmade preproduction original paintings used to create the backglasses over the past few years. One of my favorites is Jack*Bot (attached).
I also run a facebook group for this type of material, ie collectors/appreciators of original artwork related to pinball, video games, etc. Its here if anyone wants to check it out.

Congrats . How many proto do you have? Seems it’s raining proto at your place.
Quoted from GAP:Just picked up a prototype Truck Stop[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
How does it play? I had one for awhile and just couldn't get it dialed in, even with the 1" balls. The design is really neat with ramp combo possibilities but I could never get it right. The only other one I played on location was far worse than mine.

Love my Truck Stop! Congrats on the pick-up. Completely went through mine. Stripped the mylar. Pulled all topside parts to clean and polish. Mine plays perfect and fast
Wondering what the differences between proto and standard are?

I was wondering also, I noticed that the boards are different color, mine are green, the truck that has destination station is different, mine is yellow and the upper flippers are different, mine are blue.
Also the outlines “special” is different

1" balls? I've played truckstop a few times at shows, and never realized the balls were smaller than standard 1 1/16". Of course, I never had the glass off, and that 1/16" is hard to perceive...

I don't recall where I saw this first, but a quick Google search confirms at least some people are using them.

The smaller ball makes a big difference.

Oh SNAP! A mustang!!! nice pickup.....oh, you probably meant the Krull. Yeah, I guess that's OK too. LOL
Looks really nice from that pic. there are still things out there. Sometimes the stars just align. Congrats on the rare one there!

Is that one of the ones that Chris at HEP restored? Congrats on the rare find.

Correct, it is a HEP restored Krull. The previous owner sent it to HEP to be restored a few years ago. But never set it up until two weeks ago when he set it up to take pictures for me.

How many has Chris done? I owned one for a short while, too. It was one someone else commissioned for Chris to do and I bought it as part of a package deal and sold it as part of another package deal not too long later.

Mind is blown how one of the most rare and elusive machines is bought and sold as part of a 'package deal.' I can only imagine the emails or encounter ... 'I'll take the Krull, Joust, and hmm... let's throw in the King Kong as well.'

I saw yours at HEP when I was picking up my Bally Playboy back in July 2013. As best I can recall it wasn't quite finished yet when I was there but it looked really sweet. The lower playfield with the reducing lens was very unique.
