Here's mine. Except for AC/DC, there are not powder coated, but are painted by a professional with car paints
and clearcoated. MM is a regular one, not a remake.

Quoted from accidental:

Some of these games look awesome! Looking for ideas to powder coat my TAF. All I can find on Pinside is one that went all blue as used on the cabinet lightning bolts, but I think I'd prefer to match the purple from the rose, apron and logo.

I went with black as it fits the them. I even had the wireforms and flippers painted black. The wireforms where not powdercoated, just regular auto paint with clear and they seemed to hold ok in home use. I do not own the TAF anymore, but it was nice to have it tuned up

Here are a couple of mine

How did you paint the edges of the backbox on the MB? I mean, is there some molding that was used (if so, which) or did you paint directly on the backbox? Thanks for any info!

I think the Slimer works well on the pro as well! Perhaps now to add the sideblades with slime as well?

Quoted from Butch2099:

Has anyone done a Stern Spider-Man? What color did you go with?

I went with blue (including coin door and apron), this picture does not do justice for the color though.

Quoted from modfather:

Very nice, did you go with a metallic flake in the PC ? There is so much red in SM, the blue is a nice contrast. Good choice. I like your custom shooter, mad props to that guy who made it.

There is metallic flake in the paint, yes. I believe though that the parts have not been powdercoated, just regular 2K paints I think (they have been made by a professional, so I do not know exactly, how they were painted).

Yes, excellent shooter rod

Quoted from TKDalumni:

Well tuna_delight has the right idea...the lime green on Nepi23's MB is probably a bit tougher sell.
I went with a gloss black powder coat on my Scared Stiff and couldn't imagine it looking better any other way. I think most would agree.

Nooo, green is so nice

If anyone has powercoated the armor on a GOT LE, it would be nice to see pics. I guess the Stern-made black is the way to go, but it would be nice to see alternatives.

Here is the SW Pro we did for Replay FX.

Nice job - but where did you get the nice siderails? Powdercoated those available for GB?

Quoted from ASOA:

Some powder coating on a few of my games.

Nicest powdercoat-selections I've seen thus far!

Anyone powder-coated a CC, please post some pics!

Also, guys who have replaced the t-molding on Stern's backboxes, how did you manage to put the t-molding back to the backbox tightly?

Quoted from TomDK:

Hardest task was to powder the hinge of the coindoor because chrome and copper powder became to thick. So we sanded it again and got it powdered only in copper.

This has been difficult - each time I have brought my parts to the painter, the paint starts to chip off from the hinge of the coin door or where the inner coin door meets the outer part of the coin door. Is is just question to paint those parts more thin or what would one have to do so that it would not happen?

Some pics for reference from my GB. [Sorry for derailing the topic a bit...]

I did my MMR in blue. Its prismatic "TRANSPARENT BLUE" Item: PPS-5140.
Its a really strange paint - it makes the blue look different when one looks at it from different angles.

Quoted from Good-Times:

Any thoughts on automotive painting of these rather than powder coat? In my area there's not a lot of volume work with the local powdercoaters, and so for any colour other than a tiny selection of browns and greys, it's a special order (min 20kg of powder)! Ie it's too expensive to get a nice vibrant colour. Thinking my local panel beater could do something decent for half the price.
If I protect the interface between lockdown bar and side rails, I can't see much wear happening anywhere else. It's all home use, what do you think?

I had some pinball armor for my ex-pinball machines made with automotive painting by a professional. I think it worked ok for armor, but e.g. bolts and bolt holes in legs will wear out. But if you are not planning on moving the pin much, it should not be a problem. There are also currently these kinds of products available: https://www.free-play.se/produkter/verktyg/soft-socket-58-no-scratch-leg-bolt-socket.html
