Quoted from Stretch7:

I have heard of people painting and clear coating it....not sure how well this holds up but would like to hear if anyone has done it.

This is painted and cleared. Had to scan my pinball refinery metal apron to try to get a paint code so we could match it. Like most have said pictures really doesn't do it justice. Looks awesome in the light.

Quoted from MustangPaul:

That's a nice looking red. I'd like to get a red like that in powder for my GB Pro.

It's a candy red. The Apron from Steve had more metal fleck than we could get here but it was still a perfect match color wise.

Quoted from SUPERBEE:

Looks great Jokerpoker. I would replace them graphics though . Everything else looks really nice but the cab graphics look pretty faded. r is that just the photo ?

Just the photo. It's got new decals. Full resto inside and out.

Just got my parts back from powder coat.

image_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpegimage_(resized).jpeg

What machine and what is the colour. Very nice.

Just curious what you guys are paying there. Here it's around 350 for all the armour excluding coin doors. No one seems to want to give them a go. Hence my IMVE door from Steve @ Pinball Refinery. It hurt cost wise until I fitted it and then it didn't seem so bad. Loving this thread. Some really beautiful machines.

ulmpharmd, the light up aprons are they from Joey?

Quoted from MustangPaul:

I say keep it black.

Orange is a tough one. You can have too much. I'd keep it black also.

#292 8 years ago

Yeah think they are out of stock or were the last time I looked. I put one on my TRON pro. Fitted some 6led pads under neath. Come up well.

Quoted from rubberducks:

They're designed and made by Pinball Dreams in Germany. They have a range of them.

Yep they are the ones I was thinking of, thanks. Pretty sure they supply Joey. Cheaper through Pinball dreams last time I looked. My CV may be sold next weekend. If not I might have to get the apron as they really do look nice. A mate had one on his MM MB and LOTR LE

Yeah not a fan of what they did with RBION. But can see with the right graphic it could work very well. Snake skin on METLE. for example.

Here's a better side-on picture of my Spider-Man with Red Powdercoated armour.
I just pulled my GOT PRO out to do some gold powdercoat, I'll put up pics when it's all done.
rd

I put some red t Mold on my Spidey Dave and it came up really nice and matches in with the trim. Didn't take pic sorry.
The GoT is going to come up nice with the gold trim mate.

Quoted from DMC:

That RZ hammered finish looks tops. How does one powdercoat the coin door hinge without funking it up causing it to chip off when using the door?

The very nature of powder coating is resistant to chipping. Hand rails on public transport are powder coated yellow and resist chipping than older paint styles. Having said that spraying and then clearing has a similar effect as the hard clear is less prone to chipping than 1 coat paint. Here's my IMVE and it's holding up great.

That is the best looking one yet, way better than the green and don't get me started on how bad the white looks.

The colour really suits the game fantastic.

Quoted from Cserold:

What's the consensus on also doing the chrome on the coin door when adding chrome to a WH2O? I've got one over at HEP and need to make a call on this soon. Thanks for the opinions.

Here's mine to give you an idea. Realy finished the full resto off well.

And yes i removed the plastic protectors and fitted the metal Stern type.

Well throw another damn shrimp on the barbie...that thing looks great! Game looks as cherry as a WH2O can get.

Shrimp lol. Shame I had to sell it but you can't have them all. Although this one carries some of the most regret as it's such a great game.

Quoted from MustangPaul:

I wonder what black chrome would look like.

Black chrome does look very nice. A mate of mine did his MM a little while ago after getting his IJ gun done in it. I'm sure Ron would be doing some very nice black chrome.

Can't beat chrome for a lot of games. I really like powder on SOME games but it doesn't work on all.
For me personally i haven't seen a game with white that i like. It just seems to in your face as opposed to something that really blends with the game.
Chrome WH20

Quoted from MustangPaul:

You got that right, I'm about to find out how all chrome is gonna look on my ST Pro.....well not the coin door anyway.

That should come up very nice Paul. Love to se the pix when it's done. I had STLE and was considering chrome but couldn't bring myself to go over the great job that Stern did with the powdercoating on this game. A bit like Hulk LE it was really top quality or at least mine was. The same can't be said for my MMR. It is only basic powder, even if they cleared over the top to lift it and give it some gloss like GoT would have been better imho. Remember mate pix or it didn't happen.

Some more chrome from my old collection a few years back for the chrome connoisseurs fiberdude120

Quoted from Nepi23:

If anyone has powercoated the armor on a GOT LE, it would be nice to see pics. I guess the Stern-made black is the way to go, but it would be nice to see alternatives.

I can't bring myself to do it. They really did a nice job on it from the factory.
The same can't be said for my MMRLE black. Looks the poorer cousin. I'm thinking of clear coating the MMRLE to lift it. Either that or a nice candy blue/purple mix.

Quoted from Jarbyjibbo:

Not too shabby, what about taking the apron in and trying to match it? Is that how you did it? I'd still love to see an all white WH20.

Mate just did one in white. Didn't look right even with all the white mountains and white Bigfoot. He took one look at my chrome one and said "I have to redo it" I know it's personal taste but I haven't seen a white yet I like. It just comes across as too stark. I posted this before but here's another.
