Quoted from rotordave:Bummer that someone got their fingers jammed in that coin door!
Hopefully that blood will clean up ok.

Quoted from rotordave:I already posted the "making of" this pin in the Vinyl Wrap thread, but here is a picture of the Carbon Fibre Corvette. The fastest pin in the land!

That's badass!! Fits the theme too. I am about to wrap an arcade game control panel with that shortly. Cheap and effective!!

I did the legs etc too. Came up pretty swish considering the product used cost about $10 lol.

Haven't stripped a SPIKE game before .. you have to take off the power cover to get to the head box bolts. Don't get a shock!
Here's the stripped GOT and the colour I am going for. All metal parts will be gold, except the coin door.

Quoted from rotordave:Here's a better side-on picture of my Spider-Man with Red Powdercoated armour.
I just pulled my GOT PRO out to do some gold powdercoat, I'll put up pics when it's all done.
rd
I put some red t Mold on my Spidey Dave and it came up really nice and matches in with the trim. Didn't take pic sorry.
The GoT is going to come up nice with the gold trim mate.

That's a lot of bling Pinlawyer!
I've never seen a white Sopranos before...

I got my GOT pro parts back today.
Well, most of them, I must have left the shooter housing behind.
I'm not usually a fan of gold powdercoat, usually it looks a bit "deluxe beige" to my eyes. Like on MMR. On traditional machines like that I would go gold plating.
But gold plating didn't suit this machine. Too blingy. So pacific gold powdercoat it was, and it matches up the fonts used and the playfield colours nicely, IMO.

That gold looks great on your GoT RD! It actually makes the game's artwork look better and I didn't think that that was possible.

That is truly a dream collection - some time, effort and money has been put into these beautiful machines. With some unique pieces.

Yup, that gold is perfect for that game.
Quoted from TheBigDog:SS, with black light. thx Jim!
To be honest, I've never liked the neon green trim on anything, much less SS. However, that coin door is sick! I've seen several versions of painted doors for this game, and that is the coolest by far. Did you do that yourself or have it done somewhere that could repeat it?
Yeah, the coin door turned out well. I had the machine completely restored, the guy doing the restoration had a friend of his powder coat it. It probably helped that he had the machine to match it up. I showed him the one from backalleycreations (who did the trim), but this one turned out much better, imo.
Quoted from TheBigDog:Any ideas for WH20 next to it? I was hoping something that would light up with the black light (not many options with powder coating). Maybe just a good blue is better?
A nice Candy Blue......with my blue Leg Light-Ups.

Now ya need beatmasters amber lit shooter housing and my amber Leg Light-Ups.

Quoted from Redketchup:powder coat classic stern!
Very nice!!! I love seeing older SS games powder coated. However, I think you might want to sell/ship your Iron Maiden to me . On my wishlist forever, and don't come across it often. Nice line up.
Need a little input if you guys/gals don't mind.
Given my obvious infatuation with vampires, some of my games are keepers (or at least should be). After looking on here, I was debating on powder coating my Bally Vampire and Stern Dracula. Any thoughts on whether I should (assuming I don't mind spending the money to powder coat lower level SS or EM games), or which colors would look optimal? I think purple or metallic purple on Stern Drac might be a bit much with the amount of purple in the cab already.
The bonus...Vampire has the classic early Bally one piece armor integrated with the smaller PF glass, so I could literally just pull the entire thing off and deliver it and the legs for coating. The possible downside...just not sure on PC'ing this one, especially as Vampire is rare with very low production of 799 units. Thoughts?
(sorry about poor lighting when these pics were taken)

What about "blood" red?

I wouldn't be doing it, personally. I prefer classic games to be ... "classic".
But it's over to you at the end of the day. You could always get a second cartridge to powdercoat and keep the original one. Legs are dime a dozen so no worries there. The job wouldn't be un-reversible that way.

I think everyone on Pinside has heard of them
I know a few people here in the U.K with them and they do look cool specially on a TRON they look killer
Quoted from Zitt:What about "blood" red?
It's hard enough keeping these things out of the sunlight so they don't burst into a puff of smoke.

I have usually preferred them to stay "classic" as well. Would just like them to be very nice examples with some extra touches. Don't plan on selling them anytime soon, but you do never know. And I agree with being able to undo Vampire with a second cartridge. Good call. Thanks for the input lads.
Is that rockstar sparkle? Looks great, I was trying to decide between doing a glossy black and a sparkle top coat on my tz. Hows it look in person?
