How I reinstalled my TAF alone after restoration. Slide cab into place and lower...

    Quoted from markp99:

But, how did you manage to suspend the playfield in the first place? Seems like a similar lift was needed...

In this case I was working on it on a table that I moved after suspending it, could suspend it from a rotisserie as well I suppose.

    Quoted from TheWiz:

Here is what I use. I took the backboard off Fishtales so I could give a good cleaning. If I were to leave the backboard on I use an angle with holes and a piece of wood attached (to clamp to) to support from the bottom and secure it to the table with a couple of short screws underneath.[quoted image][quoted image]

Those are great, just got a set from Amazon!

    #402 5 years ago

Some time ago I bolted a couple of 2x6s to the lift table so it supports the full length of the pin and It still fits under one. (I don't like lifting from just the particle board base). Then I got those bike repair mounts thanks to TheWiz post and now have a sturdy portable rotisserie.... Stripped a taxi playfield using it yesterday worked great.

    Quoted from cottonm4:

Nice tool and I understand, however, the two cross tie boards at the bottom of the cab take all of the stress.

Maybe so, none of my B/W have more than one cross tie. Just behind the cash box.

My machinist buddy made a bunch of these to remove stuck sleeves.

Awesome idea! Would he consider selling a couple?

    I'll ask him

    Quoted from Marten:

Anybody have a good design for a little table to place between the machines to put a beer on? Preferably immune to nudging!

Here's my cheap ass beer holders ~$6 CDN. Holds a can or bottle perfectly snug and secure. Ali-Express Baby Stroller Cup Holder from https://tinyurl.com/y4f4w8aw , double hole washers and 1" stove bolts. Have them on all 12 of my pins. And the little clamps that aren't needed are good for other things you might want to clamp.

Thanks, my thinking is same as yours, the landed cost of a PinGulp is at least $25 CDN x 12 Pins = $300, too much for me.

Here’s mine , I prefer not to have to plug it in. Made from battery holders pulled off of WPC cpu boards, tests wedge and bayonet lamps and flashers. I have doubles so I can compare 2 colours or cool white vs warm

Repurpose that broken 5 Iron, nice long screwdriver to get in tight spots, can apply a lot of torque as well

This is how I bring up my pins, The Pinski

    #688 2 years ago
    Quoted from HighVoltage:

Hey, who has a tool to remove stuck sleeves from a coil? I've wasted too much time chipping them out piece by piece in the past! Someone had a tool for this, but I forgot where.
Actually, I've since removed some brass sleeves from a machine I picked up. Next time I'm going to try using one of those to pound it out. I was shocked these were installed in a Stern DMD. For how long where these in active use?

that’s my buddy PinballJunkie , don’t think he has any left and has since retired. You could PM him

    #689 2 years ago
    Quoted from dudah:

I love it. How do you have it secured to the deck outside?

I have 2 x 18” 3/8” threaded rod going through a 4 by 4 and threading into a WPC leg plate, which is fastened under the deck joists using simpson hurricane ties. I have slotted the ends so I can screw them up when needed and down when not and hidden under a mat.

    Quoted from cottonm4:

How much midnight oil did you burn to come up with this? For pinball stuff, this is right up that at the top !
You could throw down with anybody who has an Escalera.

Definitely went through a a few versions to get there. I came up with this to save the cable grinding a groove in my my floors.

    Quoted from packie1:

Do you use the Pinski to take them down as well? If yes, post a video of that please!
    Mike

Not always but sometimes, especially if I’m alone, will take a vid next time.

    Quoted from cottonm4:

Yes, but these sleeve removed have a little ledge cut on the end for a perfect fit. Once you try one you will not want to go back to a socket.

Just want to give credit where credit is due PinballJunkie for a great tool. He designed and sold these on here 3 or 4 years ago before he retired, he was making them at work :p , I believe the current seller asked if he could to make and sell them
