I had a little time to ponder and I think the album cover from Aqualung would make a great translite.

Also would like to have Cross Eyed Mary multi ball where the flipper buttons switch flippers.

They could do a lot worse than Tull! It's probably Motley Cru or Bob Jovi in the future unfortunately

    #53 6 years ago

When I was in Jr High, Tull was probably the most popular band with the kids there at the time. Bungle in The Jungle was on the radio day and night.

    #54 6 years ago

Wow I thought you were older Odin. I thought you were older than a baby boomer.

I know it was a typo, but Bob Jovi would be awesome haha

No I'm one of those in betweeners that don't really care about what our older brothers were into, and especially don't give a shit about Gen X culture.

    Quoted from gliebig:

I vote for Mr Bungle. They already have pinball sound effects in their songs...
    » YouTube video

Wow this song reminds me a lot of the Voodoo Glow Skulls mixed with Madness.

I'm gen X and I don't give a shit about the culture. I miss the cartoons, video games, punk and metal music, and pins

    #59 6 years ago

I'm finding I have more in common with millennials than baby boomers or genxrs for the most part as of late. They don't seem overly stuck in their ways yet.

    #60 6 years ago
    Quoted from mnpinball:

    Because that would not sell....
The only hip-hop pin that would sell would be Beastie Boys.

You're probably right... But if the new Black Panther movie is a hit you could license that theme along with the Kendrick produced soundtrack.

Other than Locomotive Breath, I can't think of any JT music I would want as background music for a pinball session.

    #62 6 years ago

Tull or Floyd, both would be cool although i'd lean more to Floyd

    I'd be all over Floyd

Floyd is the gateway drug to progressive music and for that I am grateful.

    Bwahahahaha.......this entire thread.

Flute shooter rod, pop bumpers surrounded by moustaches, fan layout, harmonica ramps, and a dirty hat topper.

    #67 6 years ago

    Sign me up!
Juthro tull ran the gamut of music for years but the early stuff was best. A little known fact, Led Zeppelin opened for Jethro Tull at one point.
    crosseyed mult-iball!!!
Moby Dick multi-ball would also be awesome.

Some of us are still pissed about 1988.
    Never forget.
But fuck a Grammy, and Jethro Tull. You already knew this OD.

Is Jethro Tull the band that Tony Iommi was embarrassed to play with?

Sounds like a good theme to me.

    You make a good point.

Jethro Tull may be getting snubbed by the rock and roll hall of fame, but they are

    Grammy Award winning recording artists!

    #74 6 years ago

Jethro Tull have sold an estimated 60 million albums worldwide, with

11 gold and five platinum albums among them.

Love ya OD. I liked Tull. Until 1988.

    Quoted from Gryszzz:

Don't blame them. There was plenty of media complaining back in the 70s how the Grammys could totally ignore the genius that was Jethro Tull and their masterpiece of work- Thick as a Brick.

And maybe you don't remember that Metallica's performance of One on that Grammy show was a lackluster effort at best. Now if they had gone out there and done a scorching version of say "Seek And Destroy", things might have been different.

    #77 6 years ago

Only the first riff. Over. And. Over.

Gryszzz, you've never seemed like a guy that would really care too much what the Grammys are up to

nope. you gotta get it to that transition riff where it really picks up speed and then go pass out in the chair.

    Quoted from monkeybug:

Tony was not a good fit for Tull. Fortunately everyone realized this early on and parted company. Music would have lost a great band had he stayed.

    #82 6 years ago

    Time for another relaxing song.

    #83 6 years ago

Well I just meant that 1st riff haunting you while yer sleeping then you waking up to it lol.
    Sounds like torture for sure.
    Anyhow fuck Jethro Tull.

Try waking up with that pounding drum in the transition riff next time.

switch to something that has sold big the last 20 years, biggest chart toppers, largest sales to people 5 years old to 34. something URBAN. something that will actually earn well on location in venues that people under 45 frequent the majority.
themes that didnt (do not) earn well on location: aerosmith, kiss (stern).
metallica did/does by customers over 30. same with ac dc.
games that DO earn well on location because younger people actually see the themes and want to play it:
    1) ghostbusters (since its still relevant to even kids and people and genders of all ages).
    2) guardians of the galaxy- because its actually "now" current with younger people as well as older.
    3) star wars- same as above.
    4) potc- same as above
    5) the walking dead- same as above

are you seeing the pattern? make a current popular music based pin. rock is dead . it has been unless you are 40 or older maybe, even then, plenty 40 year olds listen to urban music.
kendrick lamar is ghetto, not him.
someone who actually sells and is clean cut like drake, who has been selling big for many years.
make a dang chic machine, put nicki minaj on a pin, make a back glass actually good to look at instead of rockers from the 1960 and 1970's.
or how about rihanna who has sold chart toppers for 10 years now and still is the female pop queen.
what happened to the days of pretty ladies on back glasses? who in the heck wants to look at old men?

    #86 6 years ago

    Drake is a hollywood pussy.
    Kendrick Lamar is a genius.
Sorry homie yer all kinds o wrong.

    #87 6 years ago

Nobody on pinside is going to buy any of those. Before a game goes on location, it has to go thru and be approved by pinside first. That's why you keep seeing ugly old rockers whether you like them or not.

Spongebob would attract all kinds of younger players, but again it has to go thru the pinside jury first, so it's not gonna happen!

    No.
If you meant the next Hard Rock/Heavy Metal pinball machine then yes of course.

I see what you did there.

I saw Tull live once at Irvine Meadows in 1988 and they were still killing it. So yes they did deserve to win a Grammy that year.
