Quoted from rustybomber79:I have to second the comments from earlier. Stern needs to have their codes done before selling a game, I mean seriously what is that all about? People pay thousands of dollars and it not even complete.......
Other than that Stern is cool, I don't love all there games but I like more of them than I dislike and if they are successful the business model seems solid. In fact, if Sterns business model failed and they tanked we would probably not be seeing the new competition, and the industry would have been dead.
I've seen this post before in many forms, and I call bullshit. Maybe it's true; the software for WOZ *might* be done before the last machine has shipped. But that's more of an indictment of JJP, since it's taking years to get all their machines out. They too have released a ton of updates, and it's to their credit that they're working so hard on the software to make the machine shine.
Software is almost never released in a complete state. It just depends on the demands of the market and how much money a company is willing to leave on the table when they delay a release. It's unfortunate, but true in almost all markets.
I would say that more time should be spent finalizing the rules before a single line of code is even written. But Stern is far from the only company guilty of this, and with a few exceptions (WoF? What else?), they've been great about eventually fixing the most egregious issues.
