We've all had a situation similar to this. You have to leave in fifteen minutes to drive your kid to some event and think you'll squeeze in a short game or two. Suddenly, you're having the best game you've had all month. You beat the mini-wizard mode on the first ball, collected an extra ball and have multiple events stacked, just waiting for you to trigger them. Then, "Dad! It's time to go! We're going to be late!"

It would be great to have a save feature. Most games have a scoop or saucer. I'm talking about a shot like that that you could hit and then push a button to save your game. The ball would stay there, you could turn off the game, and when you turned it on later, you would have the option to resume. The ball would kick out, and it would be like nothing has changed. Seems like a no brainer to me. I would love to see it happen.

well, as games get deeper, the need for this does grow.

Been in this position SO many times!

and it's not like the machine's aren't physically capable ... it's really just a matter of programming.

Agreed. Still, I can't imagine coming back to finish my game hours later without the momentum, having shots dialed in, etc.

I loose concentration if I'm at the middle of the game and mist do something for even 5mins.After that I cannot continue with the same action. So save future will not work for me.

I think it would be a welcome feature. There have been times when I was having such a great game that I literally left the ball sitting in the shooter lane for hours until I could return to the game. While I don't think leaving the game on like that damages it, it would certainly be much more energy efficient if you could shut the game off and then resume later. Unfortunately, I've found that when I pick a game back up after a long pause, I'm usually no longer "in the zone".

Not being in the zone again is definitely an issue. But at least you wouldn’t feel like you had to make that choice between missing your kid’s school play and ending the game of a lifetime.

I just leave the game on and a ball in the shooter lane.

Of course, that requires you to lose a ball. I’ve had games where I feel invincible and balls don’t drain. It’s rare, but it sometimes happens.

Cradle up and put tape over the flipper button?

    Lol

If I have something on the stove and the timer went off and I'm in the middle of a really good ball that shits going to have to burn.

The TZ Home ROM actually lets you do this. If you cradle the ball and then press the extra ball button, it will keep the flipper up for you until you return. This comes in handy if you need to answer the phone or take a bathroom break, but you definitely wouldn't want to keep that coil engaged too long.

If the games going THAT well - it’s a no brainer man. “Sorry buddy, we’re gonna be late. Daddies putting up a new GC score!” Lol

I thought Stern does have a Coin Door Ball Saver feature. If you open the coin door during a ball it freezes the state of the game. When you close the door it puts a ball back into play where you left off.

Correct. Except you then can’t turn the game off. Also, an open coin door is an invitation for my cats to make some mischief.
