Thanks Lloyd! I thought about stopping by to visit you along my way home but I was running on fumes. Another time

Mousin Around is an AWESOME game... Congrats!!!

It looks like the cabinet is in amazing condition too. Usually faded and torn around the legs. Hopefully, the playfield is nice as well.

I've driven about 16 hrs round trip (left 4am and got home at shortly after 8pm) for an HUO ST-TNG. And another round trip: my Congo plus $1000 cash for (2) Corvette's approx 12 hrs.

Road trips can be a lot of fun... especially with the tunes cranked up real loud!

The story has come to an end folks. I’ve been up for 48 hours and drove for 24 of them and I would be damned if I didn’t play this pin before I crashed. It’s -14 right now so I brought the machine into the house vs. the game room in the detached garage. I’ll post more pictures tomorrow in the lineup but once again I want to thank everyone for having fun with me the last number of days in this thread and the support to keep me going today so this mouse could make it home safely.
Sincerely,
Peter
P.S. Want to give a huge shout out to gov for his flexibility and willingness to facilitate in making all of this happen. He’s a solid dude.

The story never ends. You will always drive 20 hours to pick up a new pin, cuz now you know you can

Change the word mess in your head to Mouse . . . Lol

Damn, that’s a fine example. I now see why you made the drive. Congrats!

#261 4 years ago

Just made it to Illinois! Halfway there!

#262 4 years ago

That machine looks very nice absolutely worth the trip. I drove almost 16 hours round-trip to get my Whitewater machine so I totally get it. Nice to see a positive thread on pinside here for a change also. Now all we need to see is a pic of you playing it to close this puppy down.

#263 4 years ago

I just followed up with this thread sitting on machinery at a busy gym, grinning and laughing from ear to ear. People around me probably think I’m nuts, but I LOVE posts like this.

Pinball (to me, these days) is more than just about the game. It’s about the adventure, the hunt, the people you meet. The game is just the segue between all of that. It’s what makes recent pickups “nostalgic” for me.

Looks like the trip was worth it, OP! Congrats on a safe journey!

Yeah. If the pics are not lying, you have made a nice score.

Drive safe, other guy.

She’s loaded up. Cabinet isn’t the best but the playfield is pretty good. And for the price couldn’t be beat!

Would have loved to sleep in a bit today, but these little stinkers were a little too excited to have their dad back at home. The mouse is out of the house and in the game room. Would love to spend all day playing but I have to travel to Fargo to go wedding suit shopping for a friend. Busy busy. Still wouldn’t change a thing as far as the adventure and the pleasure of getting to share that excitement with all of you. Wishing Jmckune safe travels back with his Taxi.

You forgot to ad the pin to your pinside collection. First thing I do when home with new machine.

Congratulations you crazy MOFO!! I feel like you single handedly increased the value of this machine. I bet there will be a ton for sale now.

What did you get it for?

Got it for $1500. Worst part is the front of the cab near the start button only wear area is near the pops on playfield.

It’s in its temporary storage space in the garage while my house gets finished. My other 3 games are going to join it shortly.

So you can’t even play it today?

Glad you and the machine made it home safely!

#276 4 years ago

I did get to play it before loading it up but won’t get set up in its new location for probably at least a week.

#277 4 years ago

Cheesy bonus! Congrats on the pick up. I fell in love with Mousin Around instantly the same way you did. There is a location by me with a ton of pins and almost two years ago I was there with one of my buddies and I played it for the first time. I had a blast with it and it's all I wanted to play after that for the rest of the night in a room full of 30 games. I decided I had to have one after that. This game has a way of seducing people at first sight apparently! Enjoy!

So...was it worth it?! Everything you hoped it would be?!

#279 4 years ago

Yeah, what's the post-mortem? I'm driving 3 hrs for mine this weekend. Players condition, but at a price that reflects it. So I can't complain.

The one down in Lincoln on Craigslist? That one I believe is the same guy I bought my Lectronamo from, and he's a pinsider (DoTheDoo).. Nice collection, make sure to play his Xenon! Good guy to buy from. Narrow basement stairs.

If that's the case, before you go, make sure he explains the modified ramps to you. It's fun but definitely changes the gameplay.

Don't think so. It's a guy who goes by Troxel on pinside, and he's got a repair business called Troxel Repairs. The ad was on Pinside and Facebook. It's archived now on Pinside. I think the ramps are normal, at least I hope so!

https://troxelrepair.com/

Kind of a fun website. He's got a repair/pinball blog, which has a lot really great articles, and he sells circuit-breaker fuses (handy things!). They're the ones that have been listed on the pinmap classifieds for a while. He is right by Lincoln though. In Adams, NE.

#284 4 years ago

Gotcha. Different machine and seller then. Not familiar with him at all.

Yep. So what was with the ramps on the Mousin' you were thinking of? Also, I wonder why Lincoln seems to be the pinball mecha of the area. Always seem to be way more machines for sale there, than in Omaha or Sioux Falls, or anywhere else around here.

I think there's a guy by the name of something Lanpher that has like hundreds (maybe thousands?) of pins in a warehouse of his down there. Crazy stuff!

#286 4 years ago
Quoted from DakotaMike:

At the end of the ramps are trap doors to slow the ball down a little before it rolls in front of the flipper. The doors are held in with screws. Remove those trap doors and the difference in your reflex speed that is needed is tremendous. I played a MA at TPF last year. Played it twice and walked. Then I played the one Hans is talking about. I was ready to dig deep and take that one home.

If you like them fast, take the doors off. You can always put them back on.

Hey grantopia !! Absolutely it was! It’s funny though, someone asked me the other day how my trip went and I responded, “What trip?” lol I had completely forgotten that I had gone only a few days later. I was crazy busy at work as soon as I got home and so I’ve hardly had any time to enjoy it. BUT I would absolutely do it again. It’s a system 11 and I won’t pretend it’s anything more than that. GRUMPY was sure having fun giving me a hard time about it the other day, but I still love it

cottonm4 suggested removing the trap doors and I haven’t had time to do so, but plan on it once I’ve got the rhythm down.

Haha sorry I didn’t mean to come off that way. I just don’t like it when people over inflate games. And if I had the money and space I would own every system 11!

You getting that jackpot once in awhile? Ever re-loaded the traps and collected it again yet?

Ha my bad I was joking, probably didn't come off that way in text form. I'd sell all my DMDs before I could part with one of them.

I also asked Cliff to make flipper frames and have the option to buy the right frame with the notch in the elbow removed. This gets rid of the post that slows the ball on the long orbit shot.

However, I played a bone stock MA with a NOS clearcoated playfield at leagues last night and found that when you try to trap the ball on the right flipper it hits the post and shoots back towards the flipper. Being clearcoated, the ball shot back fast. Blink and it’s down the drain. I’m second guessing my decision to remove the post.

Jackpots are far and few between! I won’t pretend to be a good pinball player lol that will be the day when I reload the Jackpot! What’s your high score?!

#297 4 years ago

Hey, dozer1:
Keep hitting those jackpots. The final score is what really matters.

Speaking of which, I think my high is 46,191,xxx . Just went down stairs to check and of course played about 5 games while I was at it. No jackpots tonight though. last game I had it maxed out for 3 balls and couldn't collect it to save me life.

For anyone interested, the one I bought DID have the end-of-ramp trapdoors removed! Guess, it's a common mod down by Lincoln. Dang the ball comes out fast! I put the doors back on, but I'm thinking I might take them off again when I shop it this week. I kinda like how it plays with them removed now.

Damn, that's a score! Holy cow. Granted, I'm still getting used to it, but I'm lucky to crack 3 mil. Funny thing is, my daughter is the GC of the house with 4.1 mil. Still don't know how she managed it, she's only 7!
