I recently picked up a LOTR and installed a "interactive Led back box lighting kit" that ties into the power board. It eliminates the fluorescent tube and has strips of Led's that color change and a few white flasher strips that go off with game play. Problem now is that I lost some coil functions and the flashers due to a blown 5 amp fuse. Which is due to a shorted out tip122 transistor. I really like this mod and want to run it. Doing a little research, there is a replacement tip102 transistor that is described as being "more robust". Is it possible that adding this Led light kit could cause all of this and would the tip102
fix it?

It could be anything.

You may have fncked something up while installing that mod.

Or it could have just been coincidence, and that transistor would have blown anyway.

TIP102 is a better version of the TIP122, but neither is going to survive a short circuit, open diode, or.....

There was no issues until I installed this mod so I doubt if it was a coincidence that this happened. It did work for a few games then blew the fuse.
