What exactly is done when a machine is shopped?
I’m looking at a machine to buy but the seller says that it needs 3 through switches and the shooter lane underneath rebuilt to play well. Can someone explain this in more detail please?

    Shopped is subjective.
Condition is the only thing that matters.

Some people wipe down the playfield and say shopped. Some people strip it completely down and rebuild/adjust everything and call it shopped.

It's like saying a car is re pianted. There is many different qualities of paint jobs. Some are shitty and cheap with runs and bonds, some are works of art with new metal and wetsanded.

Shopped means different things to different people. You have to ask the person who used the term what it means to them.

When the ball drains it enters the trough. There are switches in the trough to keep track of the balls. If the game doesn't know where the balls are it often acts oddly, sometimes kicking out another ball or ending play before you drain.
Shooter lane underneath? Maybe needs an auto-plunger rebuilt? Haven't heard that term before.
