    I've heard it all, why in the hell would you powdercoat the rod? Now you know your answer, yes you need a sleeve and now you need another rod.

    Exactly! This is why powder coating a shooter rod shaft makes no sense, shiny steel on a shooter sleeve is the only way this concept works over time. And the fact that you literally only see about an inch of it under the spring barrel makes this idea comical.
