I’ve noticed the ball shot getting worse and worse. Sometimes firing out of the shooter lane completely? Shooter Rod is not bent but is not hitting the ball in the centre... the harder you plunge the worse the ball fires. Any ideas?

You should be able to adjust the entire shooter rod housing. I'm not as familiar with new games as I am with older ones but on older games you can adjust the entire shooter rod housing so that it will strike the ball in the center. There should be nuts holding the entire shooter housing in place on the inside of the cabinet. Just loosen those nuts, move the housing to where you want it, and then tighten it back into place. You should have a little bit of up-down, left-right adjustment available.

You should also remove the rod and check to see if it is straight and see what condition the sleeve is in. If not straight get a new one, may as well get new shooter and barrel springs and sleeve while you're at it. Make note of where all the washers are located on the rod or take a picture. It matters.

it could be a one of a few things or a combination of a few:
- shooter rod could be bent - but if you turned it while the ball is sitting the tip would move around
- the shooter housing has loosened and moved over and therefore mis-aligning
- the playfield may have moved over a little if lifted up and dropped back down with the locators over move to one side than the other and the gap comparison may be obvious as well - at a guess looks like the playfield is over to the rhs

Some things I’ve tryed...
Pushing the playfeild to the left.
There was not room to play with .
Testing to rod to see if was bent... it’s not.
Unscrewed everything and tightened back down... it didn’t help.
Next step is to replace everything.

I’ve noticed several MET games that the shooter has a hard time plunging the ball past the pops. It’s BS. Mine does it some times too and I’m sure it will get worse. There has to be a better solution.

have you tried a firmer or maybe little stronger spring on your plunger
i had the same on my potc

i ended up using a thicker one

I don’t see how a thicker spring can fix a mis-aligned shooter. If the contact point is off center of the ball then it will throw the trajectory off immediately.

We all know the solution, which is very simple/basic: just get the shooter tip centered on the ball.

There are only 2 factors controlling this:
- Playfield position
- Shooter position

Is there any way to adjust the playfield position, in respect to the shooter? ->>> probably not or not easy

Therefore - adjust the shooter / shooter housing.
-- The housing is attached to the cabinet with 3 or 4 screws
---- just remove it completely, and see if there is any wiggle room to align the tip with the ball.
---- If there isn't any wiggle room ->> use a drill bit to make some in the direction you need to get the tip aligned properly
----- For clarification: widen the holes in the cabinet that the shooter housing attaches through
---- NOTE: the shooter housing will cover up the slight enlargement to your cabinet holes

A lot of Sterns don't have the shooter in perfect middle.
Realy a little more power helps.
