I am helping a friend with a High Roller Casino that is having some trouble in the shooter lane. I am having major issues with the autoplunger and minor issues with the manual plunge.

The biggest issue is that the autoplunger fails to get the ball up the ramp 1 out of 5 times. If this happens during multiball, occasionally you get two balls in the lane and then you're stuck.

The issue is that the ball is coming off the autoluancher forks to the right, then bouncing on the left side of the ramp and losing a lot of momentum on the way. The video shows it happening.

The autolaunch mech is all new and the ball seems to be resting on the forks well. I don't have a pic because I have tweaked it in so many positions, to no avail.

But...the plunger also occasionally has the ball bouncing up the lane. Less of an issue on the manual plunge because it is stronger than the autolaunch.

Is there a recommendation for how to tune this up / tips on positioning?

thanks!

Have you tried removing the metal protector on the right side of the lane?
Looks like It may be throwing the ball trajectory off.

Thanks. I did try that - no change.

I had installed it because the right side was chewed up...probably because it's been misaligned for a while.

Hmm. How about adjusting the lateral position of the playfield itself? If you pull on it on a front-side it may move a little in one direction to line up the playfield with the shooter better. I have to do this every once in a while on Funhouse for the left plunger to work well.

Sort of looks like it's from the shooter lane wear?

Something like this might help, but don't know if there's one specifically for this pin, so you might have to mod one.

Interesting...Do you mean just sliding it L/R within the lockdown bar receiver? Or something else?

Pic below...different game, obviously...

Thanks. I was thinking the same. I might try that. Or...maybe I just need to sand/fill/sand/clear - https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/vids-guide-to-ultimate-playfield-restoration/page/3#post-640071

Yes, exactly. On my funhouse there is some play and I can move the pf over a fraction of an inch. But it’s enough to make the left plunge work better. Maybe there’s a way to make a larger adjustment if needed

Worth a shot. thank you!

It kinda makes sense why it worked well at my house when I shopped it but then when we set it up at his place...issues.

Did you replace the plastic bushing that attaches to the forks? Are both forks touching the ball in about the same place before launching?

Before you sand and clear anything, try cleaning the shooter lane with magic eraser and alcohol. It's worn and dirty enough to be worthy of a magic eraser cleaning. Once clean and dry, apply a slippery paste wax. Not a cleaner/wax liquid, quality paste wax. Then polish the ramp flap with a good metal polish. Don't break out the sandpaper just yet.

Yes. All new. This is what the old one looked like. Prior route owner seemed like a passionate welder!

I adjusted the forks a bit and yes, they are touching the ball pretty evenly.

I like this idea a lot. I'll give it a try with some p21s carnuba. thanks!
