1981 Bally Flash Gordon, shoot again light will not come on at anytime or award an extra ball.
It was working when I replaced the Lamp Driver Board, but the extra ball light was out by the wood beast. When I replaced the light bulb for the extra ball light at the wood beast and it turned on, the shoot again light stopped working.
The target for extra ball at the wood beast, makes sound when it's hit and the extra ball light goes out as it should, but machine is not awarding shoot again or lighting it between the flippers. I turned on DIP switch #30 at the MPU, but does not award extra balls.

Lap socket for shoot again tests fine for continuity, bulb is brand new.

New boards on the game:
-MPU
-Lamp
-Solenoid driver
-Rectifier

Any ideas?

perhaps switch #30 ?

perhaps bookkeeping function #16 set to "02"?

When you press the little red button at the coin door all the lamps should flash on and off.
Does the extra ball lamp light then?

Step trough to Selftest position 16, 17 and 18 and set them all to 03 with the credit button.
Step through to the end and let the game cycle to boot again.

Does the lamp work now?

The shoot again light between the flippers does not light up when in test mode.

Wouldn't setting 16,17 & 18 just make the "Beat High Score" change to free balls not free games?

Switch 30 is turned on. I'll try flipping it off and on again, testing both settings.

From what I read, Bookkeeping would be for the match unit. From what I found so far.

It seems you have a continuity problem with the "shoot again" line.
Either that or the lamp bulb is broken.
Check the lampdriver board for bad solder joints at connector J3-22.
Actualy, check them all....
Make sure the blue-yellow wire is firmly in place.
Check for voltage at the blue-yellow wire (which should be around 6Vdc).
Check for bad solder joints around Q40 legs.

Does the game actualy award an extra ball when achieved?

Setting 18 is just for the sound settings.
If setting 16 and 17 are at 01, you will never get an extra ball.

You were right, that fixed the issue. Extra ball is now being awarded.

Is the Shoot Again light supposed to come on during attract mode?

No.
The "same player shoots again" lamp will never light during attract mode in any early Bally SS-version game.
