I was wiping down my STTNG the other day and touched something on the playfield with a gold ring that gave me a good shock. Obviously, I have a ground issue somewhere, but I'm not an electronics guru. I unplugged the game and tested and did not have continuity on the plug that goes into the wall. I'm guessing this means the game is grounding to the playfield instead of the wall?

Quoted from Pin_Guy:

What did you touch, or what were you near ... and was the game on at the time?

I believe my ring touched the loop wireform from the launch or the one running across from the warp ramp. I was definitely in that area putting a protector on the neutral zone and it got me when I pulled my hand up. And yes the game was on and running.

Quoted from Pin_Guy:

... or you can just use your meter and stick one lead in the AC HOT side and the other in the ground tab, if you have a good ground you will read 120V. You can also check resistance between AC return and ground, should be a couple ohms at the most depending on how far the outlet is from the MAIN disconnect.

Sticking my hands in an outlet wigs me out a bit. Is there not a way to test this on the game while it's unplugged? May just have to pick up an outlet tester.
