    An item arrived and I laughed out as The postman delivered it to me. No box, just a ton of bubble wrap. Case of the lazies, ....
    It arrived and that's what counts.

    Never underestimate the ingenuity of the ill informed.

    Happens in every hobby. Usually followed up by horror stories.

    I ordered a Japan hakko soldering iron from amazon. It arrived in a bubble mailer no box and it took 2 months from Japan.

    Of the bad packing choices I'd take that over an oversized box with nothing else in it. I get those all the time now. Example: something that is 6 inches in a foot long box. No wrap or peanuts. Just bounces around the whole trip....
