Just quoted $517 to ship a pinball game from CA to GA. First time the $500 threshhold has been breached and it sux. Anybody have similar shipping experience or change their buying habits because of increases?
Was comfortable paying $350 and ok when prices creeped to $425 around the time fuel prices were reaching daily highs. Quotes have crawled steadily since while fuel prices have receded, yet it is now over $500 to ship a pin - coast to coast with NAVL / Beltman / STI / Precision.
I've pick up games when they are within 200 miles and paid regional shippers to transport them when they are a little further than I want to drive. But when the timing doesn't work or distance proves to much, I automatically grab phone to call NAVL to move my used pins.
New pricing level have me ruling out long distance pins. Time to draw a circle on the map and stick within it for future purchases. If I can work a deal with regional shipper for about $300, they will continue to be used.
