The ship won't go down(sink) all the way. After looking at it, it appears it is getting caught on the screw head(you can see in the pic where it has been hitting on the right side of ship) that hold the bracket on the clutch plate. If you look at the picture, the problem area seems to be where the ship slides onto the metal bracket. If I sink the ship and hold it towards the back of the play field it clears and goes all the way down and if not it gets caught.

I thought maybe I could replace the metal bushing that the bracket slides into, but this loose tolerance might be by design and the bushing doesn't look worn? I could also bend the bracket just a bit. Any thoughts on a fix?

This may sound dumb, but I had an issue with my ship too. I updated the software and it fixed it. But my problem was that the sails wouldn't drop when the ship tried to sink. After a software update, it worked perfectly.

Thanks for the advise, it turns out the other bracket of the ship(not pictured 3-4 inches long white plastic towards front hull)was just a bit lose. After tightening, it doesn't have much play in it at all now and shouldn't hit the screw head anymore.

Probably is time for me to do a software update, still has 1.14 on it from the people I bought it from. They didn't play much

Glad to hear you got it fixed. Pirates is a great game! I miss mine.
