Thanks! Glad you enjoyed them. AK is so unique and a great place to live.
Unreal pics.
I've been Big game hunting in Newfoundland Canada (Moose + Black Bear), Craig, CO twice (Elk) & Prince of Wales Island AK (Black Bear + Sitka deer) & By far.... (& it's not even close) Alaska was by far my favorite place to visit/hunt. Newfoundland was nice, but it's no Alaska.
We flew into Ketchikan & then took a float plane into Prince of Wales.... Not only do I like the geography/scenery/wildlife, but Alaskan life just seems to be so laid back & so much more in tune with nature. If there was any possible way for me to run my business out of AK I would have moved there years ago.... unfortunately having to ship everything I work on, really kills the profitability of doing it out of AK.
The most beautiful spot I have ever stood in my life was a little hidden spot on down by a specific creek on Prince of Wales. It was just a combination of the temperature that day, the sunshine, the beauty of the creek, the close location to the ocean, & I was sitting there watching the Salmon run up the creek & watched a big Black bear step out & catch a Salmon & take it back to edge of the creek to eat it. I will never forget the beauty of that spot... & I've been to a lot of beautiful spots to hunt & have a lot of special memories of all of them... but that one will always be my favorite.
Alaska to me is the Crown jewel of the United States.

That's at Koot's Bar in Anchorage
That was a fairly exciting ride. This is not my pic but from a news source. This was like a mile from my house though! Saying 7.0 and it lasted a while. Went outside and the ground was just rolling. Saw a bunch a flashes from transformers blowing up. You hear an earthquake before it hits you.
26354674517426 (resized).pngHave not done much this year as my body is not working like it used to. Saw this on my way to work today.
Lived in Anchorage for a short stint. Looking to move back to AK in 2 years. Few pics to add:

Anyone heading to Anchorage and looking for a nice place to stay I would recommend Alyeska Resort https://www.alyeskaresort.com/. It's 40 miles S of Anchorage. Also, down the road from the resort, is a great place to eat called Double Musky http://www.doublemuskyinn.com/
Ok, this is not a joke, we have a wildfire right down my street. Like 2 houses down and across their field. Terrible pics but my wife took a vidoe on accident. Right down our street you can get a better view but our house is closer to the fire than this.

Stay safe. , wow 84 in AK!
Quoted from scottslash:You guys okay tomass ?
As far as the fire we are all ok but this heatwave is unbearable. We are breakimg records for temps.

Tomass you want to come to Santa Barbara, CA to cool off.
As previously stated I lived up in AK and for it to hit 90 is crazy.
Haven't been out much this summer but took a short hike to clear the mind today. This is from Summit Lake area at Hatcher Pass. Can see some paragliders(?) in a couple pics.

Finally getting pics up from my daughter's visit. These motion photos are too large to upload. Don't remember turning that option on?
Posted pics of this trail before but we had a wildfire since and it is opened up. Found some red raspberries along the way. It was cut short as we headed into some thick brush and 2 black bear cubs got frightened and climbed up 2 trees. We got out of there before taking pics obviously since momma couldn't have been far.

Keep them coming. I live close to muskoka the home , some say murder of Tom Thompson the painter. To live in the wilderness is a blessing.
This was from picking blueberries. The dog was eating straight from the bush! Got rained out but not before picking 3 gallons.

Nice! Whisper is just a pup still but she is a good dog. Lab / Husky mix. Was a rescue from a remote village.
