Probably $850ish each for the DK Jr and Stargate (assuming it's in the same condition as DK Jr)

Thanks. I know very little about vids. I may end up just keeping them since they are really cool games.

It was pretty cloudy last weekend again, but we managed to get out anyway. At least it wasn't blazing hot.

Love this thread, Belgium is so crowded .

It's funny how whenever life seems to kick me in the face, you guys post more incredible pictures and stories. I am certain that many others, even the Pinside lurkers, get much meaning out of them too.

Tomass, a genuine thank you for starting this forum, and keeping it going to this day.

P.S: I can't wait to buy you a drink someday!

So very hot in summer and sub zero winter wow.

Very nice. Much appreciated your sharing AK with us! I lived there for 3 years and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I was personally never a winter person so I moved back to the SE lower 48.

Yeah, winters are long. This summer has been cool and rainy and it already is feeling like fall is aproaching quickly. There has been some termination dust on the mountains already. This seems like a year that will drive a bunch of people to move if they were on the fence already.

I am hoping to go pick some blueberries this weekend. Looks like they are loaded this year from what others are telling me. A good friend gave me a whole cooler full of sockeye filets yesterday. That was a huge bonus, especially since they were already cleaned and vac packed.

Had to make an unexpected trip to Whittier on Saturday at the last minute. Would have liked to get some more pics, but was in a hurry to help a friend. I did get a couple pics of some glaciers and the 2 1/2 mile tunnel.

How does the tunnel work? It looks like it is only in one lane.

#565 65 days ago

BTW, I love these pics. I appreciate your taking the time to post them. My wife wants to visit Alaska, can we stay with you?

#566 65 days ago

We've been on a whirlwind tour of alaska past week! Spent a couple of days in Seward boating and kayaking through the fjords, a day in talkeetna that was going to be a glacier landing and hike but ended up being an air tour of the glaciers due to weather. Then a few days in Denali with a heli-hike and a bus tour of the park. Now taking the train for a last night in anchorage before heading home. Lots of beautiful things to see, but it has been surprisingly cold (to me) the last few days in denali!
Any last minute recommendations for must do's in Anchorage?

Yep, it is 1 way sharing it with trains. Inbound is on the half hour and outbound on the hour and trains can interrupt that. If you miss the last outbound opening you are stuck overnight in Whittier. There are lots of glaciers and waterfalls to view. One of my favorite places to go.

If you have a vehicle flat top mountain is pretty nice in Anchorage.
If you head north, Eklutna is also great. There is a trail that leads to an overlook of the whole lake (twin peaks trail).
If you are up to it, the Matanuska glacier is about 1:45 to 2 hours up the Glenn hiway.

#569 65 days ago

Unfortunately no vehicle. Plans now are to do a segway tour of anchorage unless we come up with something better. Dinner will probably be in anchorage. Maybe moses tooth? Staying in Capt cook's.

Problem with a train is when it comes during your opening. It can make you miss it and wait an hour for the next one. Not much in Whittier either but it is so beautiful.

I would offer you a ride up to flat top but I am kinda tied up with my friend in town and my mother-in-law coming up in a couple days. Moose's tooth is probably the best pizza around. Not many good eating spots that I have found though. I usually don't eat out though.

Definitely Moose's Tooth. My kids broke my wife's MT glass. She was so P/O'd. I never realized how much it meant to her.
Simon and Seafort's was our anniversary dinner place, but $$$ n need reservation.

Yeah S&S is great. We went there for an anniversary as well. I dressed up since it was a special occaision, but I was the only one in there wearing a tie I believe.

Was a nice day and the mother-in-law is visiting, so we drove over the pass. Unfortunately it was raining up there and we were in the clouds at the top. Still got a couple good pics.

Joke, but fairly true. Skeeters are really bad especially in spring before the dragonflies come in.

It’s 3:30am. Couldn’t sleep and found this thread. Wow thanks for taking time to show Alaska Tomass, that scenery is just breathtaking. I don’t get snow where I am in Australia but do spend a lot of time bushwalking our parks and reserves. It’s great seeing you outside with the kids. Mine are all grown now but we always did lots of walking especially in the Blue Mountains. My daughter now 30 still loves to go with me in the wintertime. My son 28 will come too when he’s not too busy. Last pix when a landslide took out some of the track.

I'm sure they are in the rivers and streams, but I have not been out fishing this year once again. I used to go 3-4 times a week, but just haven't made time the last few years.

I was actually feeling like I am too old to camp out in a tent in the freezing cold, but my son wanted to hunt this year. I have been trying to get him to hunt since he was old enough to walk but he had no interest, and I did not want to push him if he didn't want to. Now I know that I am getting too old for this. I need to buy a cabin.
