No. This screen is smaller and doesn’t have the back part of the screen case. I was going for a more compact look. I also added the green light to the top so you still have the visual cues for the lights. The other light was not required since I added the scoop flashing mod that mirrors that light. The white screen case was designed around this screen to make it as small as absolutely possible. It’s a two piece system and there is not a nanometer of wasted space.

I don't know really. Just seems like it's unnecessary and would wear out the motor? Something else to replace. It's the nervous person inside me I guess.

I think one of the best parts is when he moves back and forth and chomps at you, taunting you to drain.

The motor isnt unobtanium Im pretty sure...although not cheap. Id think it could be repaired too man....

Dont live in fear! Play your game.

Or just buy a spare one!

Speaking of the motor, mine moves somewhat slowly from side to side. Like not super smooth. Almost like it is pulsed with voltage.

I’ve read that later codes did this to preserve the motors. Is this true?

Hi BB,

You may want to read Service Bulletin # 53 from the following link as it appears to answer your question.

Why are you waiting on the chad code?

#559 5 years ago
Quoted from Chitownpinball:

I’m not. I just need to order it.

Really loving the game. Bought it bc I got a great deal on it. Surprisingly fun game.

Dumb question: do
You just order the new code ROMs or is there new audio/sound roms to order too?

Just the code.

My JP is bolted!
Had one before, sold it then kept missing it.

Now an even nicer one is back, and i hope i have the brains to keep it this time.
You must
Rebuilt flippers, new rubbers, slap in Chadh s rom, tune and dial her in!

Great game, great theme, great music, great ruleset, great fun.
Not too overly deep, great shots and modes.

Garry would say :capital F, capital U, capital N !

Tuh tuh tuhtuh tudeduhdeduhduduh....
Welcome to jurassic park

Ok im of to play now!

For Jurassic Park, you need to update the CPU ROM and the Display ROM. Sound ROMs are untouched.

I did the other day. MUCH better code Chad!

And skipping t rex check on startup by holding the gun is brilliance!

#566 5 years ago

I owned both gnr and tftc. JP is miles ahead of those two.

Wonder how it compares to tommy?

What does the newest chad h code add that makes it better?

#573 5 years ago
Quoted from Daditude:

What does the newest chad h code add that makes it better?

Randomly selected first modes (instead of Stampede every time). Increased ball save time. Point scoring leveling. Changes to the modes and multiball. Plus, everyone's favorite is the ability to skip T Rex diagnostics when you turn the machine on. That was worth the price of admission for me.

Didn't realize this one... Gonna have to look at the settings and turn that off.

You turn on the power then pull and hold trigger until game boots to bypass T-Rex test

What mods are the best?
Are there any "must-haves"?

What are the best cheap mods/improvements I can make yo my new JP?

#577 5 years ago

The must haves typically contradict with cheap. ColorDMD, Winteriscoming Trex (If you can find one hopefully 3D printed version soon), the gate mod is also cool. Best bang for buck is Rock Pinball lighted back board. The scoop mod is very popular as well. On the cheap DYI I would light the Trex scoop ad a few trees, goat and maybe a raptor.

#578 5 years ago

For me the most basic mods made a nice difference:

1. LEDs under the playfield - nice and bright (still 100% incandescent on top, love the old school look)
2. LED Strip behind the "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth" banner
3. Red superbright under the TRex saucer
4. LEDs in the backbox, flashers in the right locations

#579 5 years ago

After much deliberation (and many questions to various people. Thank you all), I have placed my LED order with Comet. I have included the order details in a pic below for future reference.

For anyone interested, here is the bulb breakdown:

Jurassic park uses 5 separate bulbs.
#44/47 6.3v bayonet bottom
#555 6.3v wedge bottom
#455 6.3v slow blinking bayonet bottom
#89 13v flasher with bayonet bottom
#906 13v flasher with wedge bottom

Top of the backbox head (all originally clear white):
2 #89 13v flasher bulbs with bayonet bottom and 3 #44/47 6.3v bulbs

Inside the backbox (all originally clear white):
3 #89 13v flasher bulbs with bayonet bottom, 28 #44/47 6.3v bulbs
5 #455 6.3v slow blinking bayonet bottom

Playfield (various colors):

9 #906 bulbs (3 white, 3 yellow, 3 red)
18 #89 bulbs (15 white, 2 red, 1 yellow)
9 #555 bulbs (3 white under yellow pop bumpers, 6 clear white above scoops...3 have green bulb covers, 2 have yellow bulb covers, 1 has a blue bulb cover)
72 #44/47 bulbs ( 20 red, 8 yellow, 9 blue, 2 orange, 7 green, 26 white)

I have been told that comet and cointaker are the brightest bulbs by many people. A couple of pinball restorer friends of mine swear by them. They also have tons of options and are fairly priced. There are cheaper bulbs, but they arent as bright.

Jurassic park will ghost, so you need to get non-ghosting bulbs. Blinkers and flashers dont tend to ghost, however.

I was originally going to color match, but everyone under the sun said it is much darker to do so, and should only be done on worn/cracked playfields. Frosted bulbs were recommended heavily.
The different white bulb options can be tough, i went with sunlight.

I use comet sunlight white 2 smd frosted for GI in most games, color match red, green, blue, purple inserts, everything else natural white.

I added this Dilophosaurus to my East Dock and Jeep mods. I think it fits nicely.

I bought a machine with no pteranodons, so I bought a couple.
What is the best way to attach them?

#589 5 years ago
Quoted from Daditude:

I bought it at the gift shop at the end of the Jurassic Park ride at Universal Studios Orlando.

Has anyone put decals on the dino targets (red and green targets)? If so, which ones and where did you get them?

#591 5 years ago

I am considering side blades, but the ones I really like seem to come from overseas, abd the shipping is over $500. Im not paying that much in shipping. Does anyone know anywhere else I can get these or can get them vectored and printed?

#594 5 years ago

Here is my contribution to the group:

Got a cool 20 minute 2$ mod that I think makes a difference. As I was LEDing my new machine earlier today I noticed the pop bumper caps have a raised Jurassic Park logo on them. Cool! I don't know if that's standard, but mine do. I carefully painted the logo and now I have cool custom pop bumpers! Give it a shot!

I just tried it too. Next to the exorbitant number, it states, "No Shipping to this Country possible!"
