Shakers are a definite YES for me. I also route lots of games, it doesn't cause any problems. When games incorporate them nicely, I feel it really helps add to the immersion factor, some examples being when a zombie snarls in TWD, the game shakes, or when you hit slimer in GB, the game shakes, makes it feel like you solidly hit the shot.
