With your current lineup, a TSPP would definitely be a good addition - crazy deep with long ball times. I own TSPP, and have played a lot of TS; honestly I really like both, so it comes down to what your other pins are in the collection (I am always a fan of having at least one pin that is super deep with long ball times).
I think they are both worthy of keeping. I think you need to add about 500 more cash to get interest.
Quoted from Galdaien:does anyone know if either of these pins are predicted to go up or down?
Please know that I'm not trying to be rude when I say this; but, I don't think that there is much value in trying to predict whether or not either of these specific titles will rise or fall in value.
Both of these games are at least 10 years old, and the only general 'bet' you could make is whether you expect overall pin prices to go up or down (which people tend to do all the time). But, to pinpoint a specific title (especially titles at least 10 years old) is probably a wasted effort.
That being said, I noticed that the Shadow had a reasonable value increase of maybe 20-30% over the last 6-8 months, and then it started to level off 2-3 months ago. But, that's just my observation.
Best of luck with your new game!!
The itchy and scratchy hole looks like it has wear along with the flipper buttons. I would want to see more pics than just this. The shooter lane for sure. Looks like it might have seen some heavy use.
If it has a lot of wear, it's gonna bring the value well down from 4k.

Not really much, TSPP is pretty hot right now.
alot depends on how nice the playfield is for sure, but the simpsons pics show alot of cabinet wear around the flippers..... it has seen a lot of plays

Two just sold in the last few days for close to three. Normally I don't put two sales up as an indicator of what prices are doing, but they exist. A heavily routed TSPP would normally go for well under 4k. Even before these two. I wouldn't put this game anywhere near 4k from what I've seen.

Quoted from Galdaien:Thanks for the input! As far as value goes, does anyone know if either of these pins are predicted to go up or down?
The way things seem to be going, "normal" (non-rare) game prices are all kind of concurrently going up at an even pace....so - if TSPP goes up more, Shadow's going up too...no reason either would go down without the whole market going down.
As for TSPP vs. Shadow....*shrug* ...have 'em both, love 'em both...can't really Sophie's Choice this one ...
TSPP has it all. Great theme, great deep rules, great play, tons of fun, tons to discover.
Shadow is super unique. Pretty much non-stop flow (no bumpers), awesome ramp divertors, fantastic Battlefield upper playfield toy, rad magnet trick, excellent music & sound FX.
F*ck it...get both.
Quoted from Galdaien:Here's a couple more... So maybe not looking like a good trade or about average for TS + 1.2k? I thought it looked nice other than the cab wear and nick on the backboard.
Sorry. I was just trying to comment on the condition of the TSPP from the pictures shown. The pictures are not of a very high quality. The cover for the bolt on the side up by homer's head is also missing.
Im not going to comment on the trade because I don't know enough about the shadow. Your game specifically, or the game in general.
It's a good deal. I would do it if I were you. There is more than a $1200 gap in those 2 titles, so this deal is in your favor IMO.
If your TS is in half-decent condition, I wouldn't rush to get rid of it. TS has ample room to grow whereas TSPP is more likely take a hit than to appreciate in market value. Keith's working on new JJP game(s) that might have features resembling/duplicating those on TSPP, except probably better and improved. TSPP your talking about is very well-used (which production run?) and you couldn't sell it to a hobbyist/collector for a fair price, if you wanted to. You may consider a mint condition TSPP in the future, and purchase it if you really want it.
It seems arbitrary to scrutinize pictures of the potential game without taking into consideration the condition of your own. I'm not sure how people are commenting on the money that should go on top of TS without any information on it's condition?
You are right. Here are pics of my Shadow.

Owned both. Ended up selling Shadow. Great, deep game. Seems that newer pin players dont like it.
Tspp is generally loved by all. Its got deep rules for the more experienced players and long ball times for those not as good. And the simpsons theme is generally family friendly.
Valuewise, 1200+ts is right about on target. That simpsons is dirty but looks to be in decent shape.
