I've been busy with my real job and haven't had too much time to do
much but lurk here, but it seems like it's time to re-run the Shadow
Plastics SuperSet. I've been contacted by a ton of end users in the
past year and most of the the distributors now who want more. I
assumed that Gene still had sets available, but he seems to be dry.

Planetary Pinball asked if I would re-run them, which is when I
decided to check ebay. The last set went for almost $450. That's
crazy. I think I was selling them for like $160 or so. 7-8 years
should not be almost 300% more. The well must be dry.

So, I told PPD I would check into what it would cost/how long it would
take to re-run the set. I'm working out the details now. One thing I
will NOT be doing again is the huge plastc tray that shows off the
plastics nicely but is a pain to ship. Lesson learned.

While I'm checking into this, I'm also looking at running Shadow Rings
and Mongol sets. Wipe out the trifecta of Shadow pinball "holy grail"
parts in one fell swoop. I assume there's pent up demand for all
three things, since it's rare to find a Shadow with unbroken rings and
all the mongols.

This will all be licensed through PPD this time instead of IPB. I
should have a better idea of cost/time next month, as well as if I'm
doing all three or some mix of the projects. I'll keep you all
posted.

Thank you for the update!

This is great news! If any of you are sitting on a set that you're not using, you better get that sucker up on eBay pronto!

#5 8 years ago

Awesome glad to hear it. Thanks for the update.

Great news for Shadow owners!

#7 8 years ago

Good news. I may buy an extra of each as a backup.

#9 8 years ago

I think people need phurba knives too

#10 8 years ago

Sweet!!!! I need rings!!!

Is Victor a member on here? Tell him to contact me if he'd like, I've successfully reproduced the Mongols in the past but haven't made them in a long time (since the Wayne debacle). I still have all my molds and materials though, maybe I can help?

I'll be working on Phurba protos this week as well.

Sounds like Shadow's getting some much needed love.

Add me to the list...have been looking for the plastics for some time. At least I have all the rings and mongols intact.

#15 8 years ago

Yeah, I'd be interested as well. Mine are in solid shape, but spares might be a good idea.

Great news! Thanks for sharing, mnpinball.

Ramps are still a pain to get.

Any idea on the timeframe?

I assume the rings are not available either? Just got a Shadow, and all the rings are there and in good shape except one that was broken and glued back together.

Is that the same Victor Ireland who ran Working Designs?

Very cool...

I could use 2 or 3 plastics and I'll be cool.

#27 8 years ago

Shows them being out of stock.

#28 8 years ago

I sent Planetary Pinball an email and Rick responded with the following:

"There is no update. Does not appear that Victor is able to re-run them, so
will probably be a bit longer if they are going to be re-run."
