I've been busy with my real job and haven't had too much time to do
much but lurk here, but it seems like it's time to re-run the Shadow
Plastics SuperSet. I've been contacted by a ton of end users in the
past year and most of the the distributors now who want more. I
assumed that Gene still had sets available, but he seems to be dry.
Planetary Pinball asked if I would re-run them, which is when I
decided to check ebay. The last set went for almost $450. That's
crazy. I think I was selling them for like $160 or so. 7-8 years
should not be almost 300% more. The well must be dry.
So, I told PPD I would check into what it would cost/how long it would
take to re-run the set. I'm working out the details now. One thing I
will NOT be doing again is the huge plastc tray that shows off the
plastics nicely but is a pain to ship. Lesson learned.
While I'm checking into this, I'm also looking at running Shadow Rings
and Mongol sets. Wipe out the trifecta of Shadow pinball "holy grail"
parts in one fell swoop. I assume there's pent up demand for all
three things, since it's rare to find a Shadow with unbroken rings and
all the mongols.
This will all be licensed through PPD this time instead of IPB. I
should have a better idea of cost/time next month, as well as if I'm
doing all three or some mix of the projects. I'll keep you all
posted.
