I had the same issue with mine. Luckily it was the wires connected to the kicker coil that were loose and would work sometimes and not others times. When in test mode my kicker was fine, but when the kicker was moving back and forth it wouldn't kick. I know it is redundant info, but check those wires and make sure they aren't loose at all.
