New to The Shadow, when I play for a couple of hours my Sanctum magnet will catch the ball but then just falls. No issue prior to that. The adjustment stud is quite warm to the touch. Maybe heat is cchanging resistance?
Played with adjusting the magnet but doesn't really have any affect which leads me to ask, is there a proper way to adjust the magnet? Till it hits the playfield then back off X amount of turns?

It's more likely a software issue related to the lock switches and I noticed it when I owned a Shadow. When the ball is flung into the lock, the ball can bounce back a bit on the 3 lock switches and then forward again. If it doesn't rest where it's supposed to in a short period of time, the game considers the lock broken and won't toss further balls into it.

Is the sanctum spot perfectly level? No divot?

The Sanctum does have a very small divit covered with mylar but, again don't have a issue till after playing for a couple hours

My guess... the warmth from the battery warms the Mylar, making it soft and the divot catches just enough more. Cut a circle piece of Mylar about the size of a dime, put it over where the divot is, then maybe another piece of Mylar

Same thing happens on mine. My theory is that the balls get magnetized through game play and they eventually don't roll back enough to trigger the next magnet action. Try increasing your pitch and see if that helps.

Good thought, I do notice mine doesn't roll back when it starts to act up.Any suggestons on adjusting the magnet?
