Hey all,

I just acquired a Shadow and am troubleshooting a gremlin. When both flippers are fired (and only both) the game will reset.. reliably 95% of the time. I've read that this is likely a power issue.

DC voltage at the game ROM on the CPU board is steady at 5.05VDC (+/- .03) before, during, and after the reset.

I know many people will automatically replace BR2 and C5 but, with the voltage steady, will this still possibly fix the issue?

I have looked at the flipper coils and flipper coil diodes and there are no apparent cold solder joints.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks! Ryan

I'd go through the reset check list :

And the game isn't on an extension cord or other big appliances on the same line ?

I would check the diodes first - current feedback will usually cause a reset.

Just replace all the caps on the driverboard , they are to old to function right.
Lets see if it did fix it.

Don't do that. You'll do more board damage than good.

That is the best way to ruin a power driver board, not everyone on here are professional board repair technicians.
