Ok, so here is some pics of my new Sexy Girl restoration. I have an original Sexy Girl with the Projector and the common Black w/ Silver Oil Paint cabinet...Not anymore! I also discovered when sanding the original graphics off (started with Jasco paint stripper) that my cabinet was actually Not a Bally Playboy cabinet but was in fact a combination of Bally Eight Ball & Bobby Ore Power Play (as you will see in the photos). I have had this pin for 12 years now & had to import back into the country from Germany (had to do a power conversion as well).

I did all of the graphics for the new CPR Playfield, Backglass, & Plastics, which did make it a little more affordable. I will continue to use the original projector instead of upgrading to an LCD monitor with "new" images. I like the idea of an 80's pin like this showing images from the era the game was released.

I spent a ton of time (and a few experiments) working on this project...total approx. time for this restoration is about 3 full weeks....

Some of you will love it, others will beliddle it & complain about 1 thing or another > but I don't care — I'm the one that has to Look at it & Play it! Some will complain about the 'adult' material, but again, it's not your game & you don't have to live with it.....For those that do like it > enjoy > I know I will!

#8 7 years ago

#9 7 years ago

#10 7 years ago

WOW! What a Beauty!

#13 7 years ago

Hey Stu,

Since that was originally a conversion kit (if I understand correctly), was there a recommended cabinet art package? Just curious. One way or another, looks nice.

Luke

#14 7 years ago

Luke,

There was No Art package for the original Sexy Girl....they were ALL painted Black with a Silver 'oil' paint as shown on the IPDB:
http://www.ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=2106&picno=4843

So there is no "wrong way" to do new graphics for a restoration > it's all about what the owner wants....

Trashy and awesome! Real nice work. I'd have that in my house and CHARGE the kids to play. heh

#16 7 years ago

Very Sexy!

#17 7 years ago

I would have that lol I love the cab and back box artwork

#18 7 years ago

That's a piece of art... Nicely done!

#19 7 years ago

That looks awesome. Way to take it to the next level.

#21 7 years ago

I've seen it in person and the pictures do not do it justice. It is absolutely gorgeous.

#22 7 years ago

The glitter is what makes it.

All you need is a glitter pink pair of platform boots for a topper and you would be all set.

#23 7 years ago

btw, I hope you bought those metal leg protectors, or those decals are going to crinkle like crazy. Get the metal small ones from Terry. they are awesome.

#24 7 years ago

Fantastic job, nicely done.

#25 7 years ago

Actually I use the Felt Leg Protectors....I have them on all my restored games....No Way was I going to install Metal Legs to a cabinet with Decals that cost me $ 350 to print!

I dig it, Stu. Perfect for a Bachelors pad. Nice work and looks new, right off the production line.

I made mine (being a designer and pattern maker it was easy) out of heavey duty velvet we use for non slip on some items. Its about 2mm and sturdier than felt but nice and smooth.

Looks great, well done.

#31 7 years ago

Sweet cabinet cool pin . Would fit right in with my playboy and WPT with adult backglass

#32 7 years ago

I'm doing MISS WORLD next...MISS WORLD will be even nicer than my Sexy Girl...Already have the cabinet graphics done & Printed.....

#33 7 years ago

Can you post photos of the display system for those of us who are not familiar. I had seen the playfield plexiglass on the CPR page and always wondered how the images were projected.

#34 7 years ago

Looks better than new!

#35 7 years ago

Fantastic job, although it's a shame the original Ranco art is so mediocre (obviously IMO, and not your fault, I'm sure the recreation is spot on.)

I was really disappointed that recent Kickstarter project failed, because I was really looking forward to a more "adult" pin as done by Coop, an artist I think actually has talent but still works in that style.

#36 7 years ago

really nice job

The metal protectors stay under the legs, you don't see them and they hover the legs on the cabinet, so you don't dig in. I love them and use them on all my games. Here's the cabinet stencils on my Miss world. I like to stay with the era of the game.

Hey Stu

Freaking awesome what you did with
This game. Love it

I am starting my convertion real soon
And will have to use LCD since I don't have
Original projector
I did find 2 original cassettes with the pictures
1 is mild nudity and the other is full bush
(Porn version)

I hope with 6 months I should be done

Great job again on yours !!

#47 7 years ago

With the prominent exception of those awful fake tits it looks great. Good job!

#48 7 years ago

Strictly from a build quality/artistic intent angle, because I had my eyes covered..... nice work.

#49 7 years ago

Nice job!! I love the artwork.

#50 7 years ago

It gets my approval, i can dig it.
