Anybody going to the auction tomorrow in sevierville? This will be my very first one...ever!!
I wanted to bring swords of fury and put it up, but I never got a response from their fb page on how to do put my game up for auction.

    #2 8 years ago

Just take it there. They will set you up.

    #3 8 years ago

    I wish I could. Someday.

    #4 8 years ago

It only cost you a 10 dollar entry fee plus 10 percent up to a 100 max. If it sells for 1500 then still only 100 plus 10 entry instead of 150 plus 10 entry. I willbe bringing down 5 pins 4 are in excellent shape way better than average. Come say Hi I should have on a white Jersey Jack Pinball T shirt

    Good Luck!
    Buddy

    Cool Doughslingers,
I will come by. Unfortunately I won't be prepared this time to buy anything, but I just wanted to see how things work. Never been to an auction at all really.
I wanted to bring my pin, but I don't have anybody to help me get it down the steps now...lol
I'm torn with trying to sell it because it's my first. I had a tomcat that's already gone, but had a chance once about 2 years ago to sell swords and passed.
The guy offered my asking price too. Should have sold. It has it problems with the overheated molex connectors that I never got fixed. I hear it's an easy fix if you know how to repin the connections. Just feel it wouldn't bring any moolah...Not unless somebody is just looking for a swords of fury, like that guy was.

    #8 8 years ago

They were in nice shape. My girlfriend and I played them. Monster Bash was her favorite
Drew, are you VolunteerPin's friend? He said he had a couple guys over the other night. I got the message to late, or we'd came by too.

    #10 8 years ago

Yeah man it was a good time. We ended up playing from about 7-1am lol we'll have to do it again soon.my daughter goes to Her Mothers House Tuesdays Wednesdays and Fridays so any of those nights I'm up to play some pinball if you're around

Here is what I took to the auction. Escape from the Lost World sold for less this time than last auction in TN. F14 was nice and Pinbot had incredible nice cabinet but at the auction would bot start or credit a game. Prices are on the machines. Seller pay 10 percent commission up to 100 max and 10 entry fee.

A new in box Games of Thrones sold for 4600 auction so pin must be hot. Kiss was also new in box but did not reach a selling price so ot was a buy back which cost seller 20 dollars.

It really low risk to try to sell a machine this way. Plus you never know what could show up. Some incredible deals on video games, kiddie rides and redemption machines.

I have never really ever seen the driving games so low, even newer ones like Super Bikes was cheaper than normal but if I had room Crusin' USA is still a good game and does not have a hard drive so it's more reliable than many of the newer games in the market. It's easy to update to a LED or LCD flat screen and ots a good route game or one to sell to a home buyer.

Classic games still bring good prices as working Asteroids was 650 and a non working Star Wars from 1983 upright was 800 with boards inside.

    #14 8 years ago

    #15 8 years ago

Buddy next time you have a pinbot to sale let me know please.

    #16 8 years ago

I didnt stay to see the pins go but i heard that the funhouse that was there went for $2850. That thing was a complete wreck! Do you think the prices of the funhouses are going up or the old adage "a sucker born every minute" lol

    #17 8 years ago

Oh and do you know what the stacker game went for? I wanted it but spent all my money before i got to it

I was there but did not write down prices, not sure what the pins sold for except my buddy bought an F14 Tomcat for $900

    #19 8 years ago

    Good price for a F14.

I played that one. It was pretty bad.

Wish I could have played that high speed 2. It's a game I've been debating for a couple years now, and just never got a chance to play it.

I played that avengers and it was fun. Anyone know what it went for? Said it was 1 out of 250 made.

    I sold my f-14 for 900.00
I miss it. This being my first auction, I wanted to share a few pics of my gf and I playing games we've never got to play. I actually got all monsters on monster bash...guess the pinball arcade app paid off :-p
Next time we shall prepare for actual pinball auction start time...lol...didn't realize it'd start so late after 10AM
And we'll def bring some money. I'm looking for a whirlwind(<< top of my list) but would also love to possibly own a demolition man, phantom of the opera, or a high speed 2

I wonder what shape the BSD was in.

Lol really ? Ive passed on quite a few nice ones under 1500 ?

    #30 8 years ago

Looks like prices continue to skyrocket unfortunately . What fees were on top of the hammer price ?

    #31 8 years ago

Tennessee has about 10% tax plus 10% buyers premium plus 3% if it is a non cash transaction.

Operators do not pay nearly as much in fees and the auction is filled with them. Hard for collectors to get a deal sometimes.

Don't understand the Lol. In my opinion, and from what I've seen in the market, you missed out. A nice one for $1,500 is a stellar deal. I missed out on a No Fear that sold for $375, doesn't mean that's market rate. Just that the seller didn't know what the value of his pin was worth.

Edit: There was also a RR WOZ sold at an estate auction for $5,000. Guess that's the new going rate for those as well.

    #33 8 years ago

From my experience most of the under-priced machines at this auction are buy-backs. I have purchased machines there and I always seem to bid against the guy with the keys.

Doesn't bother me too much as I know this going in. The seller is there to make sure he get his 'reserve' price since the logistics of the sale don't really make it possible to set a real reserve through the auctioneer.

As long as you don't get caught up in the emotions of the auction and know the added fees, you can't go wrong. You may not get that machine you want, but you control if you are over paying or not.

Great info Black_Knight and makes sense. I've been wanting to attend one of these but haven't been able to make the last 2 due to schedule conflicts. Maybe I'll be able to make it the next time it is in Sevierville.
