$4500 would have to be near-CQ with a green & clear hologram.

As Donjagra mentioned, $2500 would normally get you in the door. $3000 would be a decent game with some issues.

Game is prone to front cabinet fade; when I was looking for one most had front fade. I've attached a pic from HEP showing how nice they look when they're unfaded.

The Hot Pink PFs are more desirable and look cooler IMHO.

Sun Process PFs are more durable/desirable than Lenc Smith PFs. Look for the letters SP vs. LS under the apron by peaking in from the left side with a light. Watch for planking on Lenc Smiths.

One of my absolute favorite games. Quite difficult; great longevity.

Post some pics of what you find and we'll let you know what we spot.

Looks very nice indeed.

Just saw some common stuff: chunk or two out of the backbox, backbox scrapes, blackline edging, some wear at the right eject.

That shot of the hologram won't do you any good: they all photograph 100% green in room lighting from under the PF. What's odd is all that's visible is just a green blob with no image.

Tell him to put the game into T-16 and send you several pictures or a video taken from the normal playing position. They're only hard to photograph if they're turning blue already.

Are those decals (observed the serial number was missing off the cabinet front)? If so, ask him how experienced the installer was, and if the cabinet was properly blocked & sanded: no visible orange peel, bumps, etc--and smooth to the touch.

Quoted from dmacy:

Ok, the hologram is blue.

Quoted from alveolus:

...I would consider waiting as these seem to come up for sale often.

Agreed.

The hologram is the most important item on this game (you can restore an original PF or buy an IPB; cabinet decals are also available).

Here's some pics the of the blue/green.

That one looks blue-blue to me.

Here's a shot of my old blue-green one.

Good decision--patience will result in a nicer machine.

Just took a second look at that hologram and it looks like one of those repros out of England with zero facial or body features: just an opaque shadow blob.

Obviously, done to skirt copyright laws.

Mission accomplished: sure doesn't look anything like the Creature.
