I'm trying to set a Golden Arrow to free play. I was reading Clay's guide and if I understand correctly I need to short the Zero Position Switch on the Replay Unit (marked with red arrow in the schematic). This makes sense since the only other open switch in that whole stack is the Replay Button. Am I understanding Clay's guide correctly, shorting the Zero Position Switch should be it, right?

This leads to my next two questions.

1) The game would then play even if there are zero credits showing, so when I hit the Replay Button, the Subtract Replay Unit coil will energize and start the game sequence. Since the Replay Unit would be at the "zero" position, is it bad for the coil to keep firing when the stepper wheel is not going to move? Will this damage the coil?

2) When you hit the "Special" on this game you win extra credits. Will the game still be able to add and subtract credits from the Replay Unit with the Zero Position Switch shorted? I think so, but just need to double check with this forum.

Not going to damage the coil. It's only going to try and step once, just like regular.

Yup, there's no difference to normal at all except when it's on zero, you can still start the game. You can put coins in, win replays, specials, etc. and still try to pin the meter.
