My DW service switch has one switch that's a bit flaky, so I bought a replacement service switch. I noticed that on my new switch there is no "wire" going through the center of all the switches like the original. Pic below shows it better.

Do I have to add the wire to the new switches?

Any help is appreciated.

I've had a pin less than a week and can't tell you what the wire does, but I can confirm that my DW has the same horizontal wire.

That is the black wire for ground.

You need two wires for each switch. Black and one of the other colors.

If you don't add that black wire to each switch, it won't work.

Replacing the service switch on my TOM and was wondering do you desolder the switch grounding wire to reuse it or is there a better replacement?

I guess to clarify would a bare copper wire be better at grounding... or should I salvage the original... or is there an actual replacement wire with the same gauge?
