I don't recall Duracells or Energizers having a rep for leaking before they started producing them in China.

This thread made me check my Kirkland AAs that have been sitting in my Minelab for a couple years. 8 batteries and amazingly no leakage. Thing spends most of the time at the beach when I actually use it too.
