Quoted from DarthPaul:I have decided to sell my 69 Charger R/T after owning it for 40 years and use part of the money to of course, buy another pinball machine, I really want a STTNJ. Before anyone gets too excited, it is a project car and needs a lot of work, it is not running. After getting what I thought were low ball offers, I decided to put it up on Ebay. I put what I believe is a reasonable reserve price on it and now after one day there is a bid price $1,000 over my reserve. Good news, maybe, the high bidder has zero feedback. I received an ebay message from someone who was willing to pay my reserve price, if I added a "buy it now" to the listing, which I couldn't do. Then he asked if I could end the listing, then we could make the deal. I said no to him because that would be breaking the rules of the auction. The person who contacted me does have ebay feedback and he is a car guy judging from what he is selling.
My question is, has anyone here sold a car through ebay and what should I watch out for.
Just do a search on ebay for a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T, to see the listing.
Treat it like pinball. Cash on the glass.
I used to sell classic cars on eBay. No sale ever went through because I always ended the auction early. Don't ship the car. Let the buyer come to you.
