Here’s the facts of the case.
The seller had no room for a game as he was moving and got ahold of a mutual friend who asked if I was interested. I said I was and he had his movers deliver it to me.
Last week before our ice storm up in the northeast I put the check in the mail. He reached out to me tonight saying he never got the check and now wants the game back.
He now says the money is not important, he wants it back as he now has the room.
Do I need to worry about this.
I sold two games to buy his.
Now what?

One last item. I checked my bank account and the check was not cashed. I originally asked to Zelle the payment and he declined.

I love the game and do not want to part with it

If he had my cash I wouldn’t worry about a thing.
If he does have my check in his possession and says he doesn’t, then that’s another thing

Quoted from tomtest:

And how do you know he just wasn't offered considerably more than you paid "in case the first buyer doesn't come thru", which is something you can't verify, only he can so it's yours, hell I had divorce remorse 3 times and wish I'd had my first wife back but none of my subsequent wives would let me get her back.

Amazing point

I’ve sold two games, spent an hour or two adjusting switches and changing sleeves & changed out all the 44’s to warm frosted LED’s for my tired eyes. We’ve been playing the crap out of the game. We also scratched what was a perfect cabinet.

I’m reaching out to him this morning and I’ll give you an update.

Thank you for all the great advice

Bunch of grown ass children!

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Boggles my mind that people bring stuff like this here.
You really can’t figure out what to do on your own?

I posted this under buying/selling advice for a reason, I need advice.
I guess we should just take down that sub topic as an option cause some people always have all the correct answers to every question.
Go ahead, ask them, they’ll tell ya.

Quoted from JBtheAVguy:

You are spot on. I see so many negative responses from the same few members. They spend more time on this site spewing negativity than positive, constructive responses which is what this whole community is supposed to be all about.

Same here… They wanna tell you how brilliant they are and that they don’t have time for something so beneath them as they take time for something so beneath them.

I’m really at a quandary here on how to proceed. I’m not here for clickbate. I can’t remember the last thread I started.

And John...doesn't he know it was just your birthday? This is certainly no way to treat the Birthday Boy...

That’s the day I bought it!
My birthday present to me.
Was either that or spa day with a mani & pedi for everyone in Boobs army.

I could use pedicure, bro...

I paid 6K for the game.
Fair?
Too high?
Too low?

You gotta read between the lines on Levi’s posts. He knows embryojohn made up his mind before even starting this thread and was only looking for like minded posts to soothe his conscience.

I’m not that vain my friend & I don’t need the stroking, just real advice which I got by the bushel. Really great advice by fellow Pinsiders who took the time to post & PM me. Who better to ask for advice on selling & buying issues than you guys?

The seller contacted a moving company today to take the game back. The movers called me to gain entry, which was denied.

Un frick’n announced!

Scary thing is my warehouse manager might have just let them in thinking it was approved. Hell…they do wear uniforms and had papers to sign. Pretty official looking.

Quoted from Kkoss24:

Keep your 6k ,charge him 500 for your troubles then take a nice road trip and buy one of these 2.Problem solved

Oh ok…
Looks like the price was fair then.

We have the game right next to a Williams Slugfest to show how things evolved in 30 plus years. Everyone wants to play the old classic. So much so that I had to put pingulps on both front legs.

All I can suggest is you tell him he can come up to Pastime Pinball in Vermont and he can play Williams Official Baseball all day long. Beer tap is only a few feet away.

Man!
I just looked up your website & that place is heaven

Agree here. I haven't had to do it but am always prepared to leave with nothing.

Embryonjohn, your buddy that was the intermediary - he didn't get all caught up in this, did he?

I’ll find out this evening.
Ugh…

Quoted from gjm7777:

Some people really get off on negotiating period.
Even if it’s for a small amount of money, it’s like they feel they’ve manipulated you and it gets em off.

Yup!

I have nothing to report. Every morning I check to see if the check has been cashed and it hasn’t. I’m just waiting for this to end.

#297 2 years ago
Quoted from Zambonilli:

Please don't leave us hanging like so many reddit "I found a safe" threads.

The third party “always knew him to be a little strange”’and didn’t care.
As of tonight the 6k check still isn’t cashed.
I check every evening to see if he deposited it cause I need the is closed out too.
Thanks for the interest and support.

Quoted from Sean_bc:

Now that another few weeks has passed, I'm curious about the final outcome.
Obviously not giving the game back...I hope..

I took everyone’s advice and canceled the original check, wrote a new one and had it delivered by certified mail. It’s been cashed and now the game has an interesting and finished story to it.

Quoted from DaveH:

Actually the seller would have a much more expensive ride by cashing the check. Because that would be larceny by check. It would also (in this amount), be a felony.

I like that
