I have a williams laserball that has the segment E out on first and second player as well as credit/match display.
I swapped boards and have same problem. So I'm guessing it's either a connector problem or mpu. Not sure where to look.
    Any help appreciated

This happened on a buddy's Gorgar recently (another system 6 game). Check the credit/display board, it also has circuitry for the other displays on it. There's a series of 10k ohm resistors on the top-right and top left of that board. Look for burned up resistors, you may spot a couple there. The schematics should lead you to which resistor is in that segments circuit.
