    Sega/Whitestar text fixture

    $ 3,500 (OBO)

    Price is firm
    Open for offers

    Yep this is the real thing. A Sega factory test rig. Bought then decided against repairing whitestar boards in my shop, so I thought I would offer it up. I suspect these rarely come up for sale as very few were made.

    Planetary has one listed for $8,640. Seems high. Don't really know what these would sell for so let's start at $3,500 and I'll take offers in a few weeks. We will see what happens.

    The unit is in very good shape. Pretty clean overall. All boards appear to be original and have the "test" sticker on them, EXCEPT the power I/O board was missing. I put a working one on the rig so I could power it up and test. NOTE: You will have to supply your own power I/O board, this one is my only spare.

    The switch matrix test works.

    The sound and display works.

    I am not sure what the board mount and harness is for in the upper right. Maybe somebody out there knows what these connectors are for? Opto? Not sure.

    There is one column of diagnostic lamp LED's that is not coming on. This may simply be a column driver on my I/O board. I will verify that and update this ad.

    There is one row of non functional leds. This extends into the coil test leds, so I suspect this is a test led bus connection or maybe a driver on the test board underneath the panel. I have not taken it apart to diagnose.
    Surely any board guy can fix this....

    The door/high power disable button is flaky. When pressed, it flashes the "door open flippers disabled" message on the dmd for an instant. (This button simulates the coin door switch) Easy fix.

    It is pretty heavy and needed two guys to lift it on the bench. I don't trust any shipping company with this. So if you don't want to drive to Birmingham, AL and pick it up, you must make all arrangements to ship it and accept responsibility. I am willing to drive partway to meet you if it's feasible.

    I will entertain offers after a few weeks. Check the pics and ask questions! Rick.
