Hi guys, first trip down DMD lane, Ive been lucky up until now... I got an ID4 that has "the hum" and the sounds/pitches change with the DMD. The buzz is definitely coming from the DMD. It stops if I disconnect the display, and the game sounds continue without humming. Haven't done a lot of troubleshooting on the sound/dmd end of things yet. At first I thought it was a sound issue (R110/106), now I know (or think) it's DMD related. No schematics, but I think I have found an issue. I have a capacitor on the dmd board that is beeping continuity on both sides from ground (black on ground, red on capacitor, get a beep on both sides), so I am assuming this is an absolute bad capacitor. I also cannot get a reading from this one cap (even though I don't know what the readings should be, I know no reading cant be good). Without schematics, I just started out comparing readings from cap to cap etc etc and I found this one. Its obviously an long term issue that prior owners have attempted to address- there is an after market ground added to speakers/DMD- pretty sure ground isn't the issue. Anyway, does anyone have a manual to tell me what cap to order? May not be the only issue, but I'm thinking I start there and replace it. Anyone think I'm barking up the wrong tree? Will a cap cause this? Any other similar issues you guys have solved? I searched the forums, but nothing that seemed to be quite the same problem- Thoughts or experiences? Thanks guys.
