I just picked a Sega Harley Davidson today. The machine sat unused for about 10 years. When the machine boots up it shows the display version on the dmd, then goes blank. The machine plays blind, and everything else seems to work. The sound sometimes gets louder and softer. It looks like someone replaced the display rom on the dmd board at some point. (The old one was in the bottom of the machine). Could it just need a new display rom? I also tried a new ribbon cable with no luck. Thanks for your help in advance.

is the display always working a few seconds at powerup.
Press the display rom you here a craking sound and rebood the game.
Somethimes this works.

Yeah it’s always on a few seconds. I pulled the rom and reseated with no effect
