I have a lwjp but have played an sst and id4.
Cool part is they feel unique when u play. Leds make their colored inserts pop.
I've had he standard board issues. Had my CPU and driver board redone and the game is working great.
I have X Files, Lost in Space and Mary Shelly Frankenstein. I'm a big fan of Sega's, best bang for the buck in pinball. Great themes, toys and game play. Not always the best rules but a hell of a value for the money.

I agree, the toys and theme really go nicely. The rules, well I think sst was pretty good but lwjp is just very 1 mode at a time, however it makes you a better player/shooter if you can.
I'm in. Have a baywatch and love it. Would love to buy more Sega pins as they do seem to be the best bang for the buck in the modern market.
In with Maverick. After having close to 500 games cycle through my doors, this game really surprised me. I hadn't given it much thought for some reason over the years, a big mistake. A sharpshooters dream, code is well laid out, jackpots are fun as hell and the captive ball under the boat for Super Jackpot is one of the best shots in pinball imo-super satisfying because of how tricky it is. Difficult game to beat too.
This game is a gem, and the price they hover at is a no brainer.

As my Godzilla is fairly new to me, when I turn it on it makes a rather loud squawking noise upon boot up!
Is this a normal thing for a Sega game?

I miss mine... Great game with a superb soundtrack! But maintenance of these DE derived games are hell to pay...
Quoted from AlexSMendes:I miss mine... Great game with a superb soundtrack! But maintenance of these DE derived games are hell to pay...
I was going to say, it's important for these early Segas (especially the four with the large dmds) to keep them well maintained, clean and with strong flippers. You can say this about any manufacturer, really, but DE/Sega were not built like a Bally/Williams or even Gottlieb, as their electronics date back to the late 80's, the board set is practically system 11!
When they wear down, they really wear down and simple things like hitting ramps become either a chore or impossible. Keeping them in top shape is key to DE/Sega ownership.
Quoted from AlexSMendes:Great guys, let's keep this club active!!!!
My next projects are to try to put my games in stereo... Does anyone have any experience and would like to share some thoughts?
BTW, here's a pic of my XFiles that is currently being restored!
Here is the wiki

I am SOO in. I only have 5 Segas now, but I had 15 at one point (life happened, had to sell a bunch). I still have LIS, Viper, SST, Baywatch, and ID4. I DID have A13, X-Files, Godzilla, Twister, Maverick, MSF, Space Jam, SWT, and JP Lost World. Yes, at one point I had all 6 Sega Showcase games!
I miss SWT, X-Files, and Godzilla the most. I will own them again!
Quoted from twitami:Yes, at one point I had all 6 Sega Showcase games!
I'm relatively new to all this, but which are those?
Great idea for a SEGA club, I love my Goldeneye - spent a fortune buying up every part imaginable for a NOS restore later this year, game will never leave.
My mum also owns an X-files, which may get a NOS restore as well this year with a tonne of parts I managed to scour the earth for
Also have a really beat up Baywatch I just brought, missing dmd, couple boards and some other bits, may do a restore or re-theme it based on the new movie if its funny and would translate to a pin well, love a little of The Rock and he is well over due a pin
Great club the Sega games that I own are x files, Godzilla, Batman forever, starship troopers, lost world Jurassic Park, Apollo 13, Independence day, south park, and Mary Shelly Frankenstein. I have been trying to collect All the Sega games the next one on my list is twister but I can't find the darn thing for sale.
Quoted from PinRob:Bought a Baywatch because my wife liked it at a show. Got it for $1400 with an external subwoofer. I've added a few things and still have a few more mods to put in it. Fun machine!
Baywatch is my second favourite SEGA behind Goldeneye, massively underrated game, has so many shots and is packed with hardware, one of the best bang for your buck DMDs out there.

Second that! Just finished an evening playing solely Baywatch and had a real blast! The crazy wireform ramps, the satisfying VUK shot and the awesome ramp shot with the upper left flipper, this machine matches with so much i love about pinball
I have a Godzilla - love it! However! I hate how my flips are like buckets, they are super high angle when energized. I don't want them to be droopy when they are down, but I want to eliminate an easy cradle. Has anyone modified the flips on a Sega to eliminate this? Longer coil stop and/or longer plunger, and most likely adjust the EOS? I feel like a lot of Segas have a high angle at max flip.
I saw a post in the Vid Flipper Rebuild Guide from someone speaking my language on this topic, and from what I understand they used Williams mechs to address this.
After work I'm gonna walk over and take apart my flips and compare to some other mechs and see what I can do make the game a bit tougher. I saw this thread and thought I'd see if anyone feels the same way, or has done anything to this end.
Also! Does anyone have a Lost In Space they want to sell?
Quoted from transprtr4u:I'm in ... Would be nice to see whats going on in the Sega pinball world
Not enough damn color! That's what's up in the Sega world.
I am ordering an LED ColorDMD for GZA, just as soon as Randy gets back to me. I saw a sneak peek of the 'work in progress' list. I wasn't sober (good move on their part). No Godzilla, and I don't recall any Segas listed. Green will be fine until a full rom is produced. My fingers are crossed that we get some Sega love soon.
Thank you for the reminder to holler back at Randy.

Mmm ya diff mech or making the forgot the name. Stop plate at the end of the coil that the flipper mech hits. Make that longer or find a longer one so it can't go as far into the coil.
Quoted from Jtm3:I used a white led display with a green pinbits lense on my Godzilla.
Looks awesome, can you post links to where you get these? Might try them in my Godzilla.
Quoted from Evilive69:Color Dmd's would be nice. LED's and speaker lights are nice though.
What a great line-up! I'm still trying to convince a buddy of mine to sell me his LiS!
Quoted from Archytas:Looks awesome, can you post links to where you get these? Might try them in my Godzilla.
You may have to email pinbits and ask for the green plastic since they don't show it on the website. They are very helpful, good people.

I am in total agreement with you here. I picked one up two months ago and can not get over how much fun this pin is. Lonnie and Lyman coding , targets to shoot at, modes , pretty good dots, sound clips from the movie. changing this over to LEDs has helped the play field lighting significantly..
looking for someone to improve the code a bit but I really like this game.
Owned an MSF and one of the best Jackpot callouts in pinball. Would like a Godzillia some time.

Yeah, the game is really a surprise and all my guests really love it too. I think people are asleep on it. It's got that big scoring thing going on, which can be a lot of fun to cash in those big numbers.
I have my eye on a MSF that's for sale, I had one years ago. I love the art and the sounds were cool. A lot of stand up targets though (too many maybe) I'm trying to remember how hard that game was though? I know it had modes like stoning and what else? The game end screen is so cool.
Quoted from Taygeta:Will always be in the Sega club because Baywatch is a keeper, last game I'd let go of.
SST, MSF, Godzilla and Goldeneye are the other good Segas to me.
A few (ID4 and Apollo 13 mostly) have great layouts/mechs, just bad code. New code could make them entirely different games.
ID4 has an awesome layout indeed!

I had a really nice MSF. The 6 ball multiball was excellent,, That's it!,, now I got to find a replacement. it is actually funny how these sleeper games can be so much fun and the big names like MB can be snorers
My MSF sometimes holds a ball in the trough during multiball.. after losing all the balls it lost ball cycles and pops out. Anyone have that trouble before? Opto problem I'd think..
Quoted from Brazy:My MSF sometimes holds a ball in the trough during multiball.. after losing all the balls it lost ball cycles and pops out. Anyone have that trouble before? Opto problem I'd think..
Could be an opto but also check to see if the trough scoop welds broke, or the balls are magnitized. Also can cause eject issues
Quoted from racer_x:I'm relatively new to all this, but which are those?
Starship Troopers, JP Lost World, Space Jam, Star Wars Trilogy, Viper, X-Files. They all have the curved backglass.
What are the sega fans thoughts on batman forever?
Quoted from twitami:Starship Troopers, JP Lost World, Space Jam, Star Wars Trilogy, Viper, X-Files. They all have the curved backglass.
Oh yes, the "showcase" backboxes not a horrible idea actually, but the legs when you tilt the top down seem to wiggle enough to not ride on the rails/glass right when transporting.

My South Park threw me...

Thanks.. I'll check these

If you need a pic I may have one. I have had this issue on a few of my games. I have a zip tie holding it now. However I was going to start calling some local welders or use the member on here that was re welding some stuff like this.

Yeah.. if its at all handy I'd love to have a pic. Thx
I purchased a Sega X Files as my very first pinball machine and it is great.

My girlfriend also really loves playing it and is getting better each time she does. I put an upgraded speaker system in it and also added the LED speaker lights and heaps of other mods and enhancements. Most recently I put some sideblades featuring some UFO artwork which I am happy with the result.

There is one tech prob that I have been trying to solve regarding some kind of glitch with the scoring data which also somehow affects the service menu function.
I was wondering if someone who also owns an X Files machine can get a photo or two under the right hand side of the playfield for me so that I can try to solve a wiring problem that may be causing the problem in my machine.

So during multi ball my Baywatch looses track of the balls just like Brazy's MSF and after a ball search it launches 1 - ball to continue play . Does any one else Baywatch do this ? Is it a Sega thing ?
Quoted from TenaciousT:So during multi ball my Baywatch looses track of the balls just like Brazy's MSF and after a ball search it launches 1 - ball to continue play . Does any one else Baywatch do this ? Is it a Sega thing ?
Guess it can be a SEGA thing but I refuse to believe there ain't a correction to that out there... My ID4 and my SWT both do that sometimes.... The ID4 more often than SWT...
Quoted from TenaciousT:Does any one else Baywatch do this ? Is it a Sega thing ?
About 1 out of 20 multiballs this happens on my baywatch too. Or the other way round: jackpots stay lit even when 4 balls drained and after the 5th drains ball search kicks in and the machine plunges a new ball to continue play.
Definitely looks like a software problem!
Quoted from Brazy:Yeah.. if its at all handy I'd love to have a pic. Thx
Sorry forgot where I said this and luckily checked here!
