    See attached pic.

So you can see the contrast in what the playfield is, vs. what it was. LOTS of plays on the machine. Ball tracks and everything.

Which Novus to use to clean it up? 1 or 2?

I also got the foam (sponge) applicators from Pinballlife. Use these, or something else?

How long should I work the product into the playfield to clean up the buildup? i.e. should I do a little at a time to see the progress to avoid overusing the abrasive?

Also, is it safe to go over the plastic lenses on the playfield, or is it just for the wood/paint part of the playfield? How about the clear plastic ramps?

I plan on disassembling almost the entire playfield, replacing rubbers etc., so I will be able to reach every area of the playfield.

I am asking for advice on what to do/what not to do, because I’ve never done this before and I don’t want to ruin the playfield paint.

    Thanks!

(And yes, I already have the plastic canister of Blitz wax ready to go to put the !!! on this project)

I use Novus 1 for general cleaning. Novus one should get rid of ball tracks. Novus 2 is abrasive. I used Novus 2 to clean my LAH ramp. It did a nice job. I used Novus 1 on the ramp after using the Novus 2 on it. I used 2 on the underside of plastics to clean the dirt off.

Same here. Use Novus 1 for regular upkeep but generally stay away from #2 unless heavy buildup. I also use a good clean microfiber cloth to apply. When I'm in the mood for wax I use Blitz.

try to get that off with novus 1, and when it doesn't work feel free to use Novus 2 on a old dirty rag which gets used all the time by tons of collectors even with all the abrasive talks here.
After that you can wax and keep up better

OK, I realize this is an age old discussion, but before I jump in to working on my machines. I have newer machines that have not yet been cleaned. Using novus 1 on playfield will clean and shine correct? Is wax removed in this process ? Did it ever exist? After that....am I done? Just really looking for overall ease of the work and after that the general idea of what is needed and what is hype. Thanks.

Correct and wax never existed unless someone put it on themselves.
