I just had a serviceman repair and lubricate my dad’s Seeburg V200 jukebox that I got him around 5 years ago for his 70th birthday. The original issue was that the player mechanism would not eject records. The problem was fixed but then less than a month later, and a few days ago, the player mechanism would not move from its home position when selections were made.

My dad and I were playing the jukebox and it was working fine. Then all of a sudden it stopped playing records and would not move from the far right side home position. I called the tech and he told me that he would have to charge again to come out and with the previous visit costing my dad 350 for 30 minutes of work, we decided to try and troubleshoot it ourselves before we called a few more local techs.

Can anyone give us any advice on what to try please? Here is what we did to some degree of success. We did open the juke, the selection panel, and the circular title strip barrel. I was able to access a button that sat on top of a switch on the right side of the jukebox near the coin deposit mechanism. Pressing it did nothing. I figured out that the title strip barrel sits on top of this button.

The next thing I tried was repositioning the switch below where the selection mechanism would close onto. It’s sits about as far down as possible when the front is completely opened up. It might be the load records switch or the player mechanism lock switch.

This switch was in a position that was all the way forward towards the body of the jukebox. By moving the switch to the middle position and further out I saw the record player mechanism advance forward. When I placed the switch back to its original position that it was originally in, all the way forward towards the body of the jukebox, all the selections began to play. We thought we fixed it.

The unit worked perfect until the player mechanism returned to the home position. I made an additional selection and we were back to where we started. No movement until I repeated the procedure with the switch as previously stated.

Can anyone tell me what can be wrong and what I can try to do before calling someone in again. My dad’s pretty bummed he paid all that money and it’s not working already.

I put some pics down below of the button and switch I was referring to as well as the jukebox itself and the model number.
