    Fish Tales?

    #154 10 years ago

Where the f""k are you ice ?

    #155 10 years ago

Ya thats one of the things that erked me about this year's TFP, they listed BBB on the game lineup and its been off since the start of the show, why even bring the damn thing then?

That and a few of the machines were not on free play.

I will say that I had an outstanding time and will be back, but its just some mild opinions.

That and I snagged the GC score on Ed's AFM at the front of the show with 29B hehe

Funhouse sold for $5,000 + bla

    Holy cow !!!!!!!!

Just bought a Funhouse on Friday. This post made me feel better!

    #160 10 years ago

    That funhouse price....holy cow!

    #161 10 years ago

The prices are all over the place, some reasonable, some ridiculous. I guess if you want something bad enough, you'll pay for it.

    Woz prototype $5,350
    1 of 4

I thought those were not allowed to be sold. Could this have been stolen?

Forgive my ignorance, why would this sell for over 1k less than the other, production WOZ?

Because it plays not so hot. It's just not up for handling the game smoothly. More of a curiosity. At least that was the case last year when I saw one.

Supposedly you can not update a WOZ prototype.

    #166 10 years ago

With lots of disposable income, I might have bought the BBB. No way I would have paid that much for the Varkon.

    #167 10 years ago

I thought that those prototypes would not be supported, parts not the same. That is what I recall.

    #168 10 years ago

I think I know who the "epic" TZ belongs too. Well at least the one by the entrance.

    TRON LE (ohhh yeahhhh)
    Sells for $8,000 + fees + tax

    Have you done the math?

    13% fee = $1040.00

    Sales Tax (guessing 7.5%?) = ~ $600.00

    Total cost is about $9,640.00.

That's what I thought but considering there has been nothing but crickets on the sites I guess nothing new was discussed. Very disappointing.

    The auctioneer's car payment.

Auction people charge a fee to cover them.. It's a handling fee if you will. Insanity..total insanity.

This is the best show coverage thread I have ever seen. Thank you for your time on this.

I'll be back over there in a few minutes. I'll be looking for ya!

He gave a speech at 3 or something. I didn't attend nor did I hear anything from anyone on it. Surely any big news would have already been posted.

Collin COuNty charges 8.25% so $745.80 assuming the tax is on the hammer plus the 13% "buyer's premium" so the total would be $9785.80

Looks like a great show. Would love to play some Elvis with the King!

Same week as Pinburgh is a bummer though. I know these things are tough to schedule, but it seems like two such huge events should not fall on the same weekend.

All Predator audio is A#1 Top Shelf.

    Quoted from retired_user_101:

awesome story to tell... at least for me
    getting late tonight, getting hungry.
walked over to the real restaurant in the hotel. looks completely empty.
lady sits me down and i look across my table to the next row of tables and there's just 1 guy there eating alone too.
entire place is completely empty but us.
i'm fiddling around with this bag that has some TSPP flipper toppers, new rubbers, & box of bulbs.
guy at the other table says, "looks like you got some pinball parts or mods there."
i look up and say yep & what they were.
we chat a little and he says he works at Stern.
    i say, "hey that's cool".
i mention there were a lot of trons out on the floor and they are always surrounded by people and that it's by far my most favorite game. i tell him i must play it about an hour every night after work and on weekends too. yadda... yadda...
He says, "Oh I worked on Tron." and then talks about some other stuff, pins, etc...
(his comment begins to sink in a little (the `ol noodle is running low on fuel i guess))
I say, "what did you do on Tron?"
    [get this]
He says, "Oh, I designed it."
I say, "Oh, you designed it. That's cool." (is what I say, but my head is saying, "holy bleep." - - - if you know my Tron obsession, you can relate with this thought.)
He says, "yeah, I did Tron, and Metallica, and . . ." (at this point, I'm having serious trouble processing any new information) hehe. And because I'm food deprived I say, "What's your name?".
He says, "John Borg." (well &^%$#, was that a dumb question?)
He tells me this story about how when he first laid out the playfield and got the spinner going how it launched a ball, hit a post, and flew right next to Garry Stern's head. Getting a comment from him of "Need to slow that down".
So, i tell him I'm a big fan and I've spent the last 25 years in the game industry too, but on the video game side. We talk about that a bit, and then he heads off.
Wow. Had to share that. Totally made my weekend
I hope all of y'all get to experience something like that.
(not my best pic, but there ya have it, 2 guys sitting alone for dinner.)

    that is way WAY cool.

Wow what a civilized looking auction! Amazing compared to the madhouse auctions we have here in Orlando.
