I am fixing mine with fiber glass via Vid1900 post. Would love some new ones to save time and I am in need of decals. Anyone have the coin door decal? Also the firing targets? Course I will take whatever I can get.

Hello Secret Service owners:
Looking for the decal that is on the back of the cabinet on the outside near the head latch assy. If someone could post a pic of it, would love to make a repo.

I could use a 1to1 scan of the plastic ramp cover if anyone has it. Mine is missing.
Thanks

Are you referring to the plastic with the jet near the Jefferson memorial? IF yes, then I can make that for you. Let me know.

After too much work at home and at work, I was able to get into the shop and make the ramp cover. IT fits perfect. Here's yours Bruce. PM me so I can send it to you before Christmas. I am working on decals if you don't have a replacement.

gee you blokes are clever . I hope I can find someone down here to help me make those two plane decals.thanks heaps .resto nearly finished on my SS .2 pk clear ,major pf touch up,and red ,blue and white(capital building) bumpers I done what I could with my holed and cracked ramp, and new decals will help .i'll post some photos of finished machine if anyone is interested . cant wait to play it . can anyone tell me - does secret service have a DE logo shooter rod , if so , anyone got one to sell , and HAPPY NEW YEAR

I got just a black shooter rod and the housing was chrome. Didnt like either, so I replaced the shooter rod with a new black one and got a DE shooter housing on ebay. I see that pinball.center has the housing. Pinball Resource has them as well but are out of stock. As for the rod with DE on it, Only saw one and it was red. Can be picked up at ministryofpinball.com.
If you want to kinda mod it up, I see Marco specialties is selling a shooter rod with a thumbprint on it. Kinda James Bond, secret agent look.

mine was cracked and even had a piece missing .heat gun to bend back into shape , a good strong 2 part resin glue to FIX hole/crack , and bog to smooth ball running surface. fixed mine until freeplay40 makes them! hopefully

Same with mine. I used fiberglass resin to repair broken part near the wire ramp. Not the nicest, but will do for now. Hope that ramp will be on his list soon.

WOW trumpy That was a pile of crap before you got hold of it. Looks Great now. I like some of your touches. I never thought of clear for the posts holding the plastic above the car. I want to spend some more time and study your pics more. See so many ideas I want to use.

Well close to 3 months later and this guy is just about done and ready to go home. Need to tweak some minor issues and give it the "WIFEY TEST". She always checks my work to keep me on my toes.

Well it seems I have hit a snag. If anyone can help me out. I have 2 minor issues with my SS. Seems that the coil or switches which control the ball eject under the white house is flaky. Sometimes it senses a ball and when the next ball goes up the ramp shoots out the first ball before the 2nd enters. That's great, were it's a pain is most times it senses the first ball but will not shoot it and then I get 2 balls trapped and it will not shoot out either. The game will continue to try to shoot it but no coil action. I have checked the coil and switches and they all check out. Wondering if its a bad diode or tip. Any ideas?

Second issue is the pop up post between the flippers. It wants to pop up and down and not catch. I have rebuild it several times. I have replaced the shaft b-11662 as the threads were stripped on it. I cant locate a replacement spring or the flat cam. The flat cam looks fine as well. I checked on pinside and someone mentioned adjusting the nuts and I have with no luck. Any help there?
Mike

#100 5 years ago

With some time on my hands I rechecked the switches 41 and 42 and they test fine. I then did coil test on 16 kickbig and all is normal. One thing that I noticed is that switch 41 the wire form was broken. Since I could not find a way to tell which replacement I needed to order, I ordered a regular wire form and bent it to make the opening. I tried different angles and can't seem to find the right combination. I now need to ask you all to see if someone can take a side view of the switch so I can copy it. I also am curious if a ball goes into that trough does it engage and keep engaged both switches 41 and 42. I really hunting for some answers here as I want to take this game off my plate and move on to others.
Anyone?

Quoted from trumpy:

for ball post spring I just used flipper return and cut down till enough tension . have just sent my spare cam to swinks to have 3ded copied .pinballspares aus has the cam listed . mousin around diverter has same cam mechanism and a drawing in manual showing washer position (handy)ensure right angled piece on ball post IS at 90 degree and pin that runs in cam is square to cam. just lent my spare cam to swinks to get 3d printed , or you could have it. thanks again. 3rd photo of mousin around diverter that uses same cam , but needs different spring than SS to operate . hope this helps, vance

Vance
Thanks This will help. Again I have most of what you said done or checked. My flat cam seems to be fine. Can you send me pic of the switch wire form that goes below the playfield? This is the wireform that I need to mock up. Also can you tell me if the ball has to keep both switches down for game to see it? I think that may be why the coil will not kick.

Quoted from trumpy:

this one? kickbig wire same as outlane . ball runs over this releasing it then it contacts switch above playfield and holds it closed . in photo , the switch with red on it is outlane , on right is from kickbig. with the ball post I had to remove my right angled bracket that carries pin that runs in cam and bend it exactly 90 degrees, also I had a washer coil side of same 90 degree bracket. when I replaced it above bracket I could get cam to work correctly tension on spring is also very critical hope this helps . any thing else? , enjoy
[quoted image][quoted image]

Vance
I will try your suggestions and i may have to adjust the switch wire as it seems to catch either on the wood or the metal framework.

Vance
I got the switch under the white house working correctly. I had an outlane wire form and I also moved the entire assy over to clear the metal framework and the wood. Still am not able to make the up post work. I reworked all of it again but can't seem to get the cam to shift to the left. If I use a spring or no spring, it just will not slide enough to allow the pin to engage into the cam. I also checked the cam and it appears to be in good shape.
If I use my finger as a stop, I can get the cam to stay in a position that will allow it to both engage and disengage. Almost seems that Data East should have had a rubber stop or another spring to pull in the opposite direction. Just need to fix this and the game is done.
Mike

#110 5 years ago

Guys
Thanks for the help.
Bruce I will try the nuts as I copied the Williams set-up thinking that might be why mine was not working correctly. I added the lock washers and then the flat washer, I will go back to just the flat washer and the 2 nuts. What you say makes sense now that I look at the pics from Vance and you. I am hoping to get the last detail done after I get this fixed and than I will show you the cool mod I designed for the game as well.

Hey Mike and Vance,
Ive had similar issues with my up-post it seems to be pretty picky lol. one issue i had was the the 2 jam nuts were not holding the pin plate down tight allowing just enough play to not allow the pin to in gauge the slot. the other issue was dirt /dust build up on the spring and washers that hold the flat cam. after i fixed those issues it worked correctly Mike if you think the cam might be worn i'm in the process of recreating the flat cam since its unavailable i could send you one to test when i get the final version finished..
Bruce
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Bruce If I need the cam would you be opposed to sending me the 3d files for it? I have a machine to make one. Vance I checked on the site, but 22 is a little more than I want to pay plus shipping.

Well My Secret Service game is done. Wifey did the testing and gave it a Thumbs UP!. Here are some pics and the mod to follow. Thanks everyone for your help with bringing this one back to life. Thanks to Bruce for the cad file on the cam.
You will notice that the capital is missing. It broke during testing, which is a good thing. Wife suggested making a clear bottom to put on first and then the capital. I am working on that and will post the design and results.

And here is the MOD. I think it turned out nice. Gives others something to look at besides game play. It's on a loop and goes on and off with the game. I opted for no sound. Did not want to take away from the game's music.

would much appreciate it especially ramp decals of greenery and statues

I have some items scanned if you tell me what you are looking for. Bigfoot has the bulk of the Shrubs and such. Did you try PM him? Also contact Trumpy as he has dealt with Bigfoot recently and may be able to help you two get together.

The area I need a pic of is at the upper right of the playfield, my white house area is all good. There should be a single support coming from the playfield there(right at the turn/switch). Previous owner put a makeshift support near the capitol building (actually more to the right under a plastic) so I thought there was a support there too. Thanks for the effort though!

Okay how about this?

Hey Guys!!
Anyone have a wire guide that monkfe can get from you? Think I figured out that his is missing the support leg for the curve in the back of Joe's place. Otherwise maybe someone can help him with measurements so he can make a new "L" part to get welded on.
