couldnt wait....ran home from work and repinned connector. COILS FIRE AND GAME PLAYS. No insert lights at all and 1 bank doesn't rest but I'm used to fixing that stuff. not getting the ocean sound in background, I'm wondering if the connector on sound board is plugged in correctly?

Yes the left 2 pins are unconnected. Background sound is controlled by a dip switch (#8 IIRC)

Oh dear, if the insert lamps still aren't working that's because they were being fed 43 volts instead of 6 volts due to the way that connector was wired. So either all those lamps are blown or the lamp driver board has sustained some damage.

Otherwise glad to hear it's playing for now

Check the test point voltages on the sound board against those listed in the SB300 sound board schematics.

Change dip switch 14 to ON (yours is off). As slochar mentioned, it's controlled by a MPU dip switch but it's switch 14:

Also check J3 pin 6, the pin is not pushed in all the way in the connector housing which is for the switched illumination.
