Been lurking for a few months and was finally able to convince my wife that what we needed in the house was a pinball. Brought the FT home last week and the whole family has been loving it. Fun game that is great for my 6 and 8 yr old kids - and for their dad as well

The one problem I have been having with the game is sometimes the ball comes down the left spinner lane and heads SDTM. This doesn't happen all the time, but it happens often enough that it pisses me off. I get missing the boat shot and being penalized by a rebound right down the center of the playfield. But when I have a long cast up the right side and have it come around and drain the ball, I get pissed.

Any suggestions?

Hey man, I recently bought Fish Tales from a local trader in NY/PA and it had the same issue (along with a few others I had to figure out on my own). After shooting the long cast and on plunges after locking a ball, the ball will hit the white rubber at the end of the spinner lane as it comes around and head SDTM. I can relate 100% to your frustration about trying to advance the captive reward and every shot around the long cast ends up a goner.

I remedied this by removing the thick rubber off the larger post at the beginning of the spinner/monster fish lane and replacing it with another, smaller white rubber that doesn't hit the ball as it rolls down. Now the ball comes directly down to the left flipper for a chance at fast cast shots, etc. No more drains sdtm from long casts and plunges after locking a ball.

FT is very sensitive to misadjustments in that area. I've heard about it before. Look at what it's hitting and go from there.

You may need to replace that rubber just at the end of the loop where it comes out. Ours did the exact same thing. Put a new rubber on it that was a little smaller, took care of the problem completely.

Which was good, because like you said, it really pisses you off.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one with that problem.

Have any of you guys had issues with the ball not making it all the way around the lane and dropping through the pop bumpers on plunges? I'm having an issue with that right now.

I'm thinking I may need to get a new plunger assembly or tighten it somehow? I think the ball may be hitting the sides of the lane too hard and bouncing too much? It is very frustrating being stripped of chances to fast-cast, and sometimes the ball will drop sdtm after going through the bumpers on a cast. Not fun.
