So I noticed last night that the screw head holding down my Ferengi plastic is broken on my ST TNG. When I bought it i thought was just missing but unfortunately not the case. Not sure about the best way to get it out to put in a new one??? Its fairly flush. Will post pics later if that helps.

that sounds horrible and similar to a issue I have where a head bolt is stuck and cross threaded on a nut that fell out. my best solution was to drill it out slowly or try to get a piece of it to grip and wrench out. heat is a option but one avenue I would rather not go down.

slowly drilling would probably work, that is what I am going to do.

if you want to be delicate about it - get a pin vice and a small bit, drill it out. Super glue or epoxy a stiff wire (coat hanger, bicycle spoke, spring wire, something like that) into the hole you drilled. Be extremely careful with super glue, only apply it to the wire and don't use too much or you'll glue the screw in there. Use lockjaw pliers to back it out after it's dried.

There are drill bits made specifically for removing broken screws. It may be worth buying one.

Added pics. Guy at home depot said drill bit for screw removal won't work.

Drill it, use an EZ out, done.

Drilled it and it came out. I noticed taking off the broken plastic whoever worked on this put bolts on the posts and it actually twitted the plastic. Is there really any purpose of having a bolt on top of the post????

Nice work....for future reference, they make reverse drill bits that work pretty great for this kind of stuff. You drill in reverse, so the bolt usually comes out, if not, time for an ez-out.....glad you got it out.
