In the summer I prefer lighter fruitier whiskey, Aberlour 16 is one of my favorites

I had not heard of them either. Apparently Allt-á-Bhainne is relatively new distillery (founded in 1975 by Chivas Brothers Ltd, then a subsidiary of Seagram and, as of 2001, of drinks giant Pernod Ricard). It's main purpose is to ensure a steady supply of whisky for Chivas’ blended products, and is a main ingredient in Chivas regal. the name derives from the Gaelic, ‘Allt a’bhainne’ meaning ‘burn of milk’. They don't bottle themselves, hadn't heard of this bottler either but really like this one

I had a long layover at Heathrow yesterday and decided to check out world of whisky at the airport. Quite a nice selection, but most were not real bargains compared to prices here. They had some rare and old ones too, and those seemed to be pretty good deals and in most cases hard to find here.
So I bought this nice 25 year old speyside gem, tried it out last night after landing and boy it was tasty and smooth. Now I'm afraid my next UK stop is too far into the future, this will not last for long..
